Great food .Real authentic food made with good spices . I live in victoria . It was worth travelling to langford for the dinned at this restaurant
(January 2017) I have been here twice this month–once mid week and once on the weekend. The restaurant was about 50% full on the weeknight but extremely quiet on the weekend. Watch your bill. They are inching up prices on some items and charging more than the advertised prices on the menu. After the first evening, at home, I couldn’t figure out how my bill got so big. They had added an extra $2. On the second evening, on receiving the bill, I asked them about it and they said they were getting new menus printed (really?! So the computer was updated before the menus!) – the bill said lamb curry saag is $14.99, and prawn curry is $15.99, but both show $1 less on the menu. They credited me $2. So, that could explain fewer people going. The food is still good but I can see why people give low ratings to restaurants that pull this stuff. I don’t think it can be chalked up to simple error if the menus are stating one thing and the computer is charging a different price. (3.5)(December 2016) Excellent Indian food. I love the lamb saagwala (spinach) and eggplant bartha. Friends have had the butter chicken (not considered the best but still good), and lamb curries. Stuffed naans are good. Keema naan (lamb) is made with ground lamb so the texture was not to my liking but the others have been good- the spinach and planner naan and the onion naan is my friend’s favourite. Prices have crept up over the years with each menu update but still better value than other restaurants in town and downtown. $13.99 for lamb curry. Very flavourful and tasty and adding heat usually brings out the flavours more. Chai is good and warm and you can sweeten it to your taste. Large restaurant that is good for small groups, pairs, and in addition to getting good value from the meals, I often order extra to take home. Restaurant can be busy. Rating:4.5
Hands down best Indian food in Victoria. I absolutely love my visits here and have never had a bad experience wether I am ordering in or for take out.
The food was really good and the staff cared about us lots of choices on the buffet aaaaaachanges regularly enjoyed the Chia teaTea aaaaaaaa
I haven’t had a bad experience with this place. I love the butter chicken there, it’s my favourite. They keep the buffet well stocked and the staff are polite at lunch or dinner. I go here whenever I’m in town and I’m surprised that it has some negative reviews. Maybe I just have different tastes. I am not East Indian so I can’t speak for authenticity.
This place is just awful. They are expensive, and the food is terrible. They also don’t tell you that if you choose to get rice they charge you $5 for it even though they ask if you want rice or bread. When I asked if it came with the meal she said yes….super unhappy with my experience.
