Noticed this new place on Marine Drive and Cambie. The menu is similar to Peninsula in Oakridge, quite pricey. Service was very good and the staff was very attentive. The rice plate was shaped like a fish, with fish roe on top, a nice touch. The vegetable was too salty. The durian dessert was quite good. Not sure everything here is worth the price.
My girlfriend and I noticed a new Chinese restaurant that opened upstairs at gateway marine. We gave dimsum a shot here. We didn’t expect this to be a high end dining place, but that’s alright. We ordered 4 items. They gave us a complementary xo dried fish sauce. All the items were prepped with high quality. The plating is beautiful. They also have alot of private rooms too. There’s even a umbrella station to lock your umbrella with a key.Service is top notch and our experience was amazing. Mind you it is on the high side for prices but if your already spending 40 bucks on brunch for 2, I would recommend you to try this place at least once.I would come back, the dimsum we had was lovely and beautiful.
Overall, ambience and service were ok.. But we were expecting a lot more from the food since it was on the pricey side. I wouldn’t have mind the 27 dollar seafood noodle if it tasted better. Contrary to the typical salty flavored noodle, it came out very sweet. Will probably not return again.
We came to have dimsum during their soft opening and we enjoyed the service and the food (mainly dimsum). Since the place is still not fully open, as more work needs to be done but the interior of the restaurant is looking quite grand. Prices is definitely on the higher end but the quality and taste reflects on that point.
