New Shanghai restaurant in the Marpole area across from the Safeway on Granville and 70th. Service was not the best. The younger male server was awkward and didn’t know what he was doing. We were given an order sheet to order from (I requested for an english form) and when he took our order he asked us to verbally tell himour order when we had already checked it off on the order form. Why give us a form if they need a verbal order? It also was not busy at all for a Saturday afternoon..they didn’t even refill our teas, considering they had 3 servers on the floor.Food..was not great. Seafood Hot and sour soup just tasted like vinegar mostly. The seafood ..consisted of about 4-5 baby shrimp. There was also bean sprouts in the soup which was weird. We ordered bbq pork fried rice and got some sort of salted pork instead. Beef roll was lacking some taste and a bit dry. Siu long baos were small and broke as soon as we took them out of the steamer. They were not juicy at all and the wrap was hard. Pan fried dumplings were mediocre. Filling was bland. I pretty much drank the vinegar that came with it to create some taste. Definitely have had better Shanghai food elsewhere. Be prepared to pay for street parking. Parking on side streets available but will need to walk.
