This place is decent for the common Malaysia dishes. We ordered curry laksa, roti canai, mee goreng, and hong kong style kueh teow. The curry laksa was quite good, especially the soup. The roti canai was a little oily and soggy. The mee goreng was reasonable, though not spicy at all. The kueh teow was a little better. Should have tried the bah kut teh. Oh yes, the noodles came with choice of a beverage, so we tried teh and ovaltine.

Malaysian flare done right. The roti canai was steaming hot & crispy. Cooked well & just the right amount of chewiness. The curry for dipping was spicy & salty. Dipped with the roti, it was sweet & salty. The Penang fried kueh teow had that wok fire flavour. Not too greasy which was a bonus. My recommendation- the roti canai!

Other than the Hainanese chicken and their signature bean sprout chicken, almost everything else on the menu comes with a drink. Their signature Ipoh bean sprout chicken is a must as that was the highlight for me as it was boneless, tender and juicy, super flavourful, with a springy skin. Rice is definitely a must with this chicken but unfortunately it didn’t come with rice, so we ordered some fragrant rice. secondspls.blogspot.com

I have tried their Chow Kuey Tiaw, Rendang beef w/turmeric rice, noodles with egg sauce, & Hainanese Chicken rice. All are okay, not too bad. Have not tried their curries or laksa. May try their Yong Tau Fu in future. Among all I prefer their Hainanese Chicken Rice…. Moreover, it’s within walking distance.

New Malaysian restaurant that just opened up in the Marpole area seems to be a popular choice in the community recently. Went right before lunch hour at around 11:45 on a weekday and within half an hour the restaurant was quite busy. First thing I noticed..it was very muggy in the restaurant. They really need to get some ventilation in there. My party was sweating while eating! Service was soso. Don’t think they were expecting that many people so they seemed unorganized. The 2 servers on the floor seemed nice but they were just all over the place trying to get things done. Communication between them seemed to be an issue as well. We pretty much got served our food and that was it. No tea refills or check-ins. The bright spot.. food was great! Prices include tea/coffee which was nice. Cold drink +$1. Dishes had great portions and good flavours. I had the Bean Sprout Chicken with soup noodles. It is like the Haianese chicken but slightly different sauce and served with bean sprouts. The chicken was tender and flavourful. Friends enjoyed the Laksa, Nasi Goreng and Curry Chicken. Will be back to try different dishes! Parking can be a pain as Granville St. is always busy. I suggest parking on a side street (67th) and walking down.

Nice Malaysian food addition to the marpole area. Price is reasonable and the chickens are amazing! The laksa is more creamy and spicier than other places. I prefer spicy so worked out better. Menu may seem pricier to start, but the portions are very generous.
