Bought a groupon for this place – read some other reviews about how they tried to tax on the original price of the cake but decided to order one anyway. I didn’t have a problem with this and the cake was ready on time as well.Looks very cute and creative but it really lacked quality.All the cakes are apparently the same inside – 5 layers in total, 3 that are cake and in between there is mango jelly and other is filled with fresh fruit.I often order cakes from Anna’s cake house and they are always amazing and taste fresh and light. I thought this would uphold to the asian cake standard but it unfortunately it did not…. I guess you pay for the design and not the taste.It was okay, just a regular cake really, frosting is not as light as other asian bakeries and was sweeter as well. But my personal taste is lighter and I enjoy airy whipped frosting rather than dense buttercream ones.If you’re looking for a cake that is unique and looks amazing, I would give this place a go…but definitely order the groupon because I don’t see how a cake can be $90, even with their designs. If you’re wanting something that tastes light and fresh and always impeccably good, I would order from Anna’s cake house.

Good cakes but careless staff. I ordered the 3D Longevity Peach cake a week in advance for my grandma’s 84th birthday. On the the date and time of pick-up however, there was no cake made… The staff tells me that someone called in to change the pick-up time of the Longevity Peach cake to the day after… this caller was certainly not someone from our party. I found it very unprofessional that they did not bother to cross reference the name or phone number on the order with the caller. Furthermore, the staff was unapologetic and did not want to take responsibility for the mistake as they kept saying that we changed the pickup time. As a result, my grandma ended up with no cake for her 84th birthday 🙁
I am never going to this bakery again! I used my social shopper vouchers a few days ago. My voucher is for 6 mousse cakes. When I gave her the voucher she said to because we moved to a new location and we have to pay more rent, this voucher is only good for 4 mousse cakes instaed of 6. Well too bad for u! U should still honor the voucher! But no she only gave me 4 cakes! Then she charged me the gst on the original price. The voucher stated clearly tax is calculated on the price paid for the voucher! The mean girl in the bakery gave me a nasty look and said to me this is what social shopper told me to charge! What! Its printed on social shopper voucher tax on pruce paid for voucher. I didnt want to argue anymore, I paid the full tax and only got 4 cakes. If the mousse cakes r good, I think I will be ok with the way the bakery runs its business! The mousse cake was aweful! They were chewy and dry! The worest mousse cake I ever had! To be fair, I had their cake before and it was pretty good. So today I went back to the bakery and got a cake with another social shoppet voucher. Again she charged me the full tax on the original price. I show her the print on the voucher which stated tax is calculated on the price pay for this voucher. She ignored me! Its only an extra $2, its not gonna kill me but its the prinical! Not a good way to run a business! I am never going back and I will call social shopper to make a complaint! Dissappointed!!!
Coming to Marpole. I have seen a sign posted on the old Characters Coffee Shop by Safeway that they are coming soon to that space. Be interesting to see if they can compete against Safeway or the bakery 2 doors down.
Worst Tiramisu. If you want to try bouncy Tiramisu, have at go at this place
Love it. I got a cake from this store couple years ago and I liked it. it was super cute and very tasty! ordered another one today and same thing. super adorable and the mango and mixed fruits works well together! it totally worth the money
