I have been going to Sushi King House when I am in Vancouver (I live in Abbotsford) for years. It is my go to place. Good quality, fresh, and good size portions. I recommend to anyone I know going to the area. Very friendly staff.
That’s the worst sushi ever, they are enormous, not good and not fresh. I had to put all the food in the trash because it was not good. Cheap doesn’t mean good. Run away from this disgusting place.
Excellent prices for rolls! The rolls have a good proportion of filling/topping to rice ratio and are tasty. The tempura was generally quite good, though the batter was a bit thick on some of the pieces. The sauce was tasty though and you can’t beat the price. The katsu chicken was also an excellent price but was quite oily. They do give you a generous portion of chicken and salad though!Overall this restaurant was exactly what we’re looking for – decent tasting Japanese food for a good price. Service was good too! I’d highly recommend this restaurant if you don’t want to spend a ton of money but want decent sushi rolls.
You get what you pay for. Went in for a quick lunch. Sashimi is bland. Rolls are gigantic and hard to eat. Also bland. Extacly the same as Samurai Sushi & Banzai Sushi. People who say this is great sushi at a low price don’t know what real sushi should taste like.
Sushi King House. We spent the afternoon out at the UBC Botanical Gardens and our kids were starving. Starving kidlets equals unhappy parents so…we needed to eat and the closest place we knew of that the kids would both find something to eat was sushi. I ordered Party Tray #2. California Roll, BC Roll, Salmon Tempura Roll, 2 pieces of tuna and salmon sushi, hokkigai and a couple shrimp. The rolls are massive. Almost the size of my kid’s fists. The rolls all tasted great except the BC Roll which is filled with really dry and fishy tasting making it unappetizing. We also had a Spicy Crunch Roll and a Mango Paradise Roll. The Spicy Crunch Roll was quite delicious. The Mango Roll was a California roll with a slice of asparagus in it and really sweet slices of mango on top. Both of the specialty rolls were very tasty and creative. The service at Sushi King was friendly and prompt. It wasn’t busy in the restaurant and the kitchen was able to get our food to the table very quickly. The sushi tasted good (other than the BC Roll) and was fresh so that’s great. However, the size of the rolls is not attractive. I will return to Sushi King but unless you are looking for king size sushi rolls I wouldn’t recommend this place.
All Food Bloggers who enjoyed this lose all credibility. The bigger servings (the claim to fame) here are really not helping this establishment. It only unmasks the dog food that is scooped into the rice and served at affordable rates. My chopsticks were amazing! They could dissolve an entire roll into a slurry of fillers with a single touch! Wow. I’m actually glad though, it meant less of it reached my tastebuds, which would have to be non-existent for me to enjoy this sushi. The spicy tuna roll was ‘spicy’ from the shredded onions lacing the warm shreds of fish. Warm? Why was this warm? The rice, maybe, but the fish? I left 3/4 of it on the table and won’t be coming back. Tea was good.
Simply great, affordable sushi!. My girlfriend introduced me to this location with much fanfare; and rightly so! i dont know really what to do with reviews, because i know tastes vary from person to person. but if you ever make a decision based off a review, let it be this one.The sushi was incredibly huge, great portions. The soups were flavorfulthe water didnt taste like carrots or old plastic!best of all, the fish itself melts in your mouth. there are some people saying they got theirs frozen…i dont know if theyre telling the truth or not, but what i got was hands down the best sushi i have ever eaten, for an astoundingly reasonable price. definitely worth at least a try.
