By far the best Thai food I’ve eaten.Lived in Port Coquitlam most of my life, I’ve eaten all over the lower mainland, I have yet to find a Thai food place that even comes close to the food they serve here. The cashew chicken is so flavorful and you can tell it is made with the freshest of herbs and veggies. I have not had a dish here I didn’t enjoy. The staff is personable and friendly. Worth the prices, worth the wait. End of story
Too expensive for takeout. I think for $13 you should get a dinner for one. A puny container of green curry with frozen peas and carrots as the vegetables and no rice are not worth it to me. If they’d like to make their restaurant successful, fresh vegetables are a must. Or lower the prices and do delivery, as there is nowhere to park around there for pickup.
I’m torn about this place. Their pad Thai is really good (but chada Thai is better) but their take out portions are small for the price. Last time we ordered take out we were told it was an hour wait. We showed up 1 hour and 15 mins later and was told it was another 30 mins!! Hubby was already mad abut spending an hour in Safeway to kill time and now was super hungry and cranky. No discount, nothing other than sorry we had a large group( but why tell me an hour then??) two dishes are $30 whereas tip Thai would be much less
We’ll probably go again. This is a family-run restaurant, with the North American born caucasian artist husband as the host and his Thai-born wife commanding the kitchen (with their son on the night we were there). It’s a rather low-key, very casual atmosphere (not for those who wish a fine-dining style evening out–try Chada Thai in Coquitlam for that). The food is very well prepared and created from scratch on the spot, except for the rice, of course, which means you can probably expect a long wait for your main dishes, especially on a busy night. They are very particular about their ingredients being fresh and healthy, although they don’t go all the way with this–wild salmon, for example, but the chicken isn’t free range or organic; white rice only, no brown or wild. Considering the generous proportions (bigger than any Thai restaurant we’ve been to for a long time) and quality, the prices are very reasonable in my opinion. The Tom Kha Gai soup was to die for. The chicken Phad See-ew was something I’d never tried anywhere before. It was interesting, if a little bland (noodles were kind of crunchy, I’m not sure why–probably meant to be that way). The Panang Curry (we had it with the salmon) was also a little on the bland side. Granted, we ordered both main dishes mild, but nevertheless I expected them to be infused with a tad more flavour. This appears to be a very popular spot, so you might want to make a reservation. Like more than a few Asian restaurants we’ve been to over the years, it was a little on the chilly side, so bring a sweater in the cooler seasons. I’d give it 3.5 stars. I think Thai food lovers in the area should give this place a shot, if nothing else for the their friendliness and general philosophy on life. We’ll likely visit this homey little spot again.
Tasty food but small portions and kinda pricy. Good value Thai food is hard to find in the Tri-cities. I tried this place thinking it would be good value given its location in an industrial part of town. The food here is very tasty, but it’s a bit pricy for smallish portions.
Possibly the worst Thai experience I have ever had, considering having travelled all over the world. Ordered for delivery. Service was cold over the phone. Portions were small for the price. Food was more than disappointing. Delivery took over an hour for a 4km distance. If your looking for good Thai food and experience, look somewhere other than here.
A hidden gem. We had dinner here on a Tuesday night and it was excellent! We have travelled in Thailand and have eaten at great restaurants that were off the tourist track. The food here took us back to those places. Really good. Red curry is yummy.
