Favourite study spot when I was living in the hood. Good desserts, especially the waffle (super yum!), good americano, and great staff. Toilets are clean which is an important criterion for me as a study spot hahha! Also lots of plugs! Recommend if you like to study in a cafe like me! :DPs. Yeah, DON’T get their bbt.

Finally found my new study spot in Burnaby!I noticed Ki at their old location near Kingsway and never really paid attention to them until they moved closer to Royal Oak skytrain. The space is much larger now and is student-friendly with many large tables and power plugs for you to use. The place is nice, warm and filled with scents of fresh waffles and tea! However, the drinks were meh.I ordered the honey green milk tea with pearls. It was very watery and barely had any tastes of honey or tea. The pearls weren’t that satisfying either. I waited half an hour for them to cook because I came in right when they opened, but the pearls were obviously not coated in the brown sugar and just were really hard to chew. Will come back for sure, but will probably just stick with items from their coffee menu next time!

Don’t get their bubble tea. I ordered a green milk tea and it tastes like water and the girl who works there has a scary scowling face maybe she’s been working too long. I was scared to ask her to remake it….

I enjoyed the waffle, but the bubble tea and drinks were just ugh… The bubble tea was warm and the pearls didn’t have any taste to them. Ah yes, other drinks I had tried had minimal taste to them as well. It’s too bad I thought I finally found a nice bubble tea joint in my neighborhood. I guess I’ll just come back for the waffle.

I moved close by recently and decided to get some bbt to celebrate. Our drinks came out rather bland. Lucky for me I got a simple black tea so that wasn’t too bad. We also ordered the okonomiyaki waffle which was better than expected but not great. I would say most of the flavor was all the sauce they put on top. I really like the interior with bigger tables and free books/Manga to read. Only thing is I noticed the employees are always in the back. Once they finish doing something they ran to the back and if a customer walked in, it took a while to get their attention to make an order.

I have never been so disappointed with bubble tea in my entire life. I ordered the strawberry banana bbt and i can guess what went in…half of a strawberry, a slice of banana and lots of water and ice…so when i drank it…all that came to my mind was…..what..is..this..concoction…?? it wasn’t even sweet..just very bland with a tiny hint of strawberry as in like one berry and slice of banana. The decor is clean and nice but the drinks do not make up for it in any way. Can’t say much for the food as i didn’t stick around to order anything else. I took probably about 5 sips and it went straight to the garbage.

Typical Asian Cafe. I first found out about Ki Tea House Caf on Facebook. Finally found myself free one warm afternoon and decided to check this place out. The cafe is located just a few steps out of Royal Oak Skytrain Station and is next door to another popular cafe/bakery (Camellia). The inside of the cafe has a minimalistic with a dabble of that ‘vintage princess’ decor on the side where they sell loose leaf teas (which smell wonderful by the way). They have a menu of variety thats for sure. They have hot drinks, bubble tea, pudding, cake, and waffles as well. This is a cafe well suited to high school or university students looking for a chill place to study (wifi if needed) or just to satisfy their sweet tooth. Overall, nothing quite special. Basically sort of the same vibe as tealips.
