I really like NYF and I appreciate that they have a loyalty program (buy 10, get 1 free).The service at Metrotown isn’t the best and sometimes they don’t add enough toppings when compared to other locations.The poutine they offer tastes really good though!!Not a big fan of their hot dogs
Mmm a good combo to fill you up would be NY Fries’ poutine + hot dog + drink combo. For about $11, you’re all set. Also the line ups usually aren’t as long here compared to say, Tim Hortons and Subway in the food court. You also get to add whatever you want to your hot dog at a little self serve station! karenklee.com
Updated 2015: These guys aren’t so bad now. Seems they’ve gotten their act together and settled on a standard portion size. Old review:Cheap on fixins. I tried this place a few times whenever I was at Metrotown. Inconsistent in the amount of stuff they put on the fries. One evening I ordered the pulled pork poutine, and the girl was really nice. She added quite a bit of pulled pork on, a bit more than I was expecting. She must have been new because it seems the policy at this location is to give LESS. For just about every other time this other girl puts on so little of the pulled pork mix, about halfway through I’m eating nothing but plain fries, and I was eating the pulled pork quite sparingly. I think I’ve given these guys enough chances to quit being stingy. Doubt if I’ll be back.
Service at this location needs to be improved. Take time to pay attention to the person ordering not rushing to get more orders. Wouldn’t come back to this location.
Such a disappointment on all accounts.Ordered a regular poutine which came with generous fries but only 2 squirts of gravy and 10 small cheese curds.Sorry but this doesn’t make it a poutine. Stay away.
Flame Job. I frequent New York Fries quite a bit, but today I received the best fast food with the worst service. My order was very complicated: New Yorker Combo with sour cream and Green onions on the side (for an extra charge of course). Which is awesome bc it usually feeds my kids and I. They forgot my sides so I asked for them and they became instantly rude and argued that I didn’t order them at the till. I was not impressed but I figured they were busy and I was stressing them out so I should get my sides and run. Unfortunately they gave me the wrong sides. *groan* I shouldn’t have said a word. Instead I did. The stare I received could have curdled dairy. Oh no. I attempted to lighten the mood with a comment on not speaking the same language or misunderstanding one another and if my dairy was curdled then I’m pretty sure I almost burst into flames. Oh my. She was very angry. Yikes. Well, the food was great, the service not so much. I would like to return but only if Ms Death Stare isn’t working.
