Potter’s Garden is usually quite busy but we were able to be seated right away. We came here for dinner and ordered the steamed mandu (dumplings) to start, and yoogaejang and gamjatang as our mains. The food was bland and the dumplings were actually cold. The mains weren’t much better, very bland and uninspiring. Like most Korean places, prices aren’t cheap here, and service is below average. There are much better Korean restaurants around the city, so we would not recommend nor will we come back.
Potter’s Garden Korean is located on Kingsway in Burnaby neaer Metrotown. If you haven’t tried some special Korean cuisines, this is a place you should go. You can find following items on the menu:*Yukhoe – Korean style raw beef *Seonji-harjangguk – Spicy beef soup with beef and ox blood *Stir-fried of stomach, intestines and vegetables We ordered a Korean cuisine steamed dumplings in a traditional bamboo steamer (Jjin Manda # ). Very good quality Korean food Service was slightly slow.Food: Should Try!Service: Price: $30-$50 for two (dinner)Kids: A-Ok! (has #noodles and #dumplings)Presentation: Parking: Street parkingExplore the menu: Buckwheat cold noodles in chilled brooth (Mulnaengmyeon), steamed dumplings (Jjin Manda)Tips:have complimentary side disheshave private room for a large groupWould I Return: Maybe
It has been a long while since we last visited Potter. Potter is always one of the best Korean restaurant in town! They have renovated with better seatings (however, its ventilation is bad after the renovation! It is quite smoky when many tables ordered BBQ).We ordered some spicy wings, susuage, seafood pancake and hotpot. Highly recommend their wings! It is really yummy!
Our most recent experience was a good one. We ordered from their Cheese selection- cheese with pork belly. My favourite was the Galbitang ( beef rib) soup, oh so flavourful yet beautiful in its simplicity. The ambience is revamped so it’s more modern and edgy. If you get a cheese dish make sure they turn down the heat within a couple minutes or your cheese will burn.
Since Korean food is known for spice, and sometimes you may have friends that aren’t good for spice, I recommend number 60. The pork bone broth with tofu and veggies. It’s absolutely delicious and they don’t cheap out with chunks of potatoes to fill you.The medium size was enough for 3 people. It comes with 2 bowls of rice and side dishes like kimchi, sweet potato, sweet seaweed, and marinated sprouts. Make sure you have a couple shots of Apple soju to start off and man, it’s so comforting. Potters does traditional Korean home cooking. Our bill came out to 50 bucks after taxes. If we weren’t drinking, the medium size hot pot is 31 bucks before tax. Very very reasonable.Service does need improvement. It’s lacking.Just make sure you ask for everything you need from the beginning. When you pay your bill, go to the cashier.I will definitely be back again. I loved my experience.
