Like most Asian malls and markets the ambiance is crowded, fast paced and not the cleanest. I’ve been to crystal mall before and enjoyed the bubble tea and congee. I have to give them a low rating because of the treatment my family and I received from their server. There was a miscommunication and didn’t realized they we cash only and being American we only had USD and card. We apologies and told her we couldn’t pay, she threatened to call the police. As we proceeded to leave she started following us and her male friend also stepped in static we couldn’t leave without paying. Note, we never touched the food it was sitting on the counter. She grabbed my arm, blocked me from trying to catch up to my parents and yelled at us. The gyoza was $7.90 Canadian. The whole situation was blown out of proportion and a misunderstanding that my entire family apologized for many times. I don’t know how they can enforce a fine but…LOL effective advertisement as they caught my attention!Fast forward a few days later, I did came back just when I need a snack and they happen to have pot stickers. The dumplings are decent size, skin is nicely crisp while juicy pork on the inside. On second occasion I ordered their beef and beef tendon claypot noodle with spicy broth. The spice level of the broth was just right for me. Besides the nicely tender beef/beef tendons, I also see a good servings of bok choi, enoki mushrooms, tofu sheets, green onions and cilantro. Don’t let the sign scare you, the people serving at the stall are actually very friendly. So definitely coming back.
