Comments. I had dinner with a friend ..two different steak cuts for the steak sandwich, my steak cooked perfect, his overcooked, caesar salad croutons hard as rocks, not home made, why not. My ceaser salad had many leaves of lettuce that any good chef or restaurant would never serve.a

Consistently satisfying. Since the original owners are now back in the restaurant , it’s back up to it’s previous standard of very good food and service for a reasonable price. The cooks, management, and waitresses are hard working and well experienced making for a comfortable satisfying meal out. All good, thanks.

Family Favourite. Our family has been eating at Eleni’s for close to twenty years. In my view, it is the best restaurant in MIssion. I’ve always enjoyed their Greek dishes (dolmades is a favourite of mine) and my wife is a big fan of the lasagna. The restaurant went through a rough patch when it changed hands a while back, and for a time we stopped going because the quality had declined. However, the place is back on track now and I’d reccomend it over pretty much any place in Mission. Good food, good portions, good service, and decent prices.

Disappointed everytime. I have given this restaurant a chance several times, knowing how many friends frequent the place, however I have been disappointed everytime. The atmosphere is nice, has a family feel, is cozy and comfortable, but the food is below average. I have tried several items, all greek, and find that the garlic is overpowering and prevents you from actually tasting the other flavours. The Saganaki is very eggy and rubbery, and the vegetables over-cooked. My dinner partners have also been disappointed in the non-greek fare, commenting that it seemed pre-cooked and made from a frozen entree. I have heard their lasagne is amazing, so maybe another visit is in order, but I wont be ordering Greek there again! Fortunately the staff is pleasant and that helps make the dining experience bearable when the food is not up to par.

Cute, family style place with generous portions. I found this restaurant quite charming. It’s an old-fashioned family restaurant of a type that has all but disappeared from most cities; think older folks drinking coffee with the meal, huge plates groaning with potatoes and pita bread, and families catching up with each other over some tasty mousaka. I had dolmades while my partner had the lamb. My dolmades were served rare, which obviously was a mistake, but the staff was very quick to snag another replacement plate for me from the kitchen. We had enough food for dinner that night and lunch the next day, which is not usually my goal when dining out, but was kind of a fun novelty after spending most of the past year dining in Yaletown where portions are anything but generous. The food isn’t anything mindblowing, but I enjoyed my meal and I’d recommend it for those in a nostalgic mood or who want to feed a family on a budget.

Fair to average. Food came in generous portions but seemed generic. Staff were very friendly. If you feel like paying a little two much for middle of the road Greek food, this is your place.
