Great food!
Amazing food. Knowledgable servers. The wine list is exceptional with many new and exciting off list options. Stunning plates, west coast style with a French influence. Will return for sure !
Was off to a good start…. Being new to the neighbourhood, I decided to check out this restaurant seeing that it received a pretty good rating on here. Started with an appy and was pleasantly surprised that something so simple could taste so good. My friend had the beef short ribs and it was tasty, I had the chicken and was impressed at how juicy and tender it was until I cut into the wing and it was pink, I cut open the entire drum and it was pink…I told the waitress and she brought it back to the chef (not Alistair). When she returned, she told us the chef said it was cooked and that it was normal…really? Prices were a little steep for the quality…there are other comparable places that are of the same caliber (or better) at a much more affordable bill. Won’t be back.
Fantastic!. I have never been disappointed at Tap. We don’t go often… but still! The food is meticulously prepared, thoughtfully flavoured and it shows. Excellent service, great atmosphere and WOW the desserts!!!!!!!!!! You MUST try this spot!
Disappointed Locals Who Won’t Return. I think it is important to support our local restaurants – providing they are deserving of support. But the Tap Restaurant will not be on our list of local restaurants to frequent. It is a pricey restaurant for the quality and quantity of the dishes. I ordered the fresh seafood linguine and found one lonely prawn and a few, very small pieces of salmon in my $25 dish of pasta. The duck dinner my friend ordered came with tasteless little rounds that may have been potato croquettes.But what really convinced us not to ever return or promote the Tap Restaurant is that the owner came to our table after our meal was finished and told us our table was needed for the next reservation and we had seven minutes to vacate. With a little diplomacy he could have asked us if we would mind moving to the lounge where we could enjoy a coffee.
Great service and atmosphere. The food was very flavorful and fresh ! A definite return visit is in order !
