I come here almost once a week. I love their Congee and beef briskets. Their price is reasonable with generous portion. If you want a quick meal of comfort food, this is for you 🙂
This place is your typical Hong Kong fast food style restaurant. Service is hot or miss depending on how busy they are. We came early enough and they were pretty attentive and prompt. We had soup noodles which we’re about typical in terms of taste. We also tried the rice roll, and it was better than expected. Prices are quite reasonable.
This place has the worst service I’ve ever seen. These waitresses deliberately ignored me over and over. I waited over 15 minutes and not one person took my order even though I sat right in front of the kitchen where they all had to pick up the food. I think unless your Chinese they are just ignore you. A table next to me with two Chinese men sat down and had their order taken within 3 minutes. I’ve eaten here before the food is just mediocre at best and the service sucks shit. I left and went to the restaurant across the complex. Was sat down and had my order taken right away.
This place is only good for their congee and chinese donuts. I tried really hard to like this place but everytime I come, the food was mediocre. This place is busy because prices are low but if you have any form of standards regarding chinese food then avoid this place. Their noodle soups are bland, dry noodle dishes are ok but oily, the love bird fried rice was the worst I’ve had in vancouver. The sweet and sour sauce on the love bird fried rice was way too sweet with virtually no sour notes in it, it wasn’t thick enough, and had extremely little chicken on my love bird fried rice. I left dissapointed for the last time and will never come back. Even if my family is going, i’d rather stay home and cook something myself. The service was as bad as all the other reviews say and then some. They don’t care, they only do things when you ask them to without any acknowledgement. They don’t even set down a bowl and a plate for each customer. It takes a minute max to make a run and grab plates for the bowls to be put upon. Civilized Chinese restaurants always places a plate under your bowl to catch food scraps, sauce drips, and bones that fall out of your bowl. This keeps the tablecloth looking pleasant. I ended up getting plates myself because the waitresses here don’t care.
I still come to this restaurant after the fake rice rumor came out, from my opinion, I don’t think they would use fake rice. I think the quality of food is fine, we ordered fried rice and veggies. The rice is same as before, didn’t taste any plastic, but the veggies is a little bit too oily. The restaurant is pretty dead when the time I got there, there’s only 5 or 6 tables there,(usually is all packed) I will come to this restaurant again.
The home of the fake plastic rice… LOLhttp:// globalnews.ca/news/3160338/report-of-plastic-rice-served-at-vancouver-restaurant-unsubstantiated-health-authorities/?sf49449451=1
Spet 25, 2016 – East One Seafood Restaurant is the resting place for my last meal out with my friends for a while. My summer vacation is coming to an end. Surprisingly I’ve eaten at three Chinese restaurants for dinner in the last week. (Golden Spring Restaurant, Kwan Luck Restaurant and East One Seafood Restaurant) I must say this one takes the cake.Of the three, In terms of price, this is the cheapest. In terms of how busy it was, this was more. In terms of portion, this place brought on the appetite. Last on the list, quality. The food seemed a little better than the other three. Prawns were actually crispy, the red bean dessert actually had beans (check out the photo) and a mouth feel, not watered down with water or a burnt pot taste. My mom would approve of this place, my mom hates how every place is extremely salty and loaded with MSG. Upon eating a few bites I could say it was under salted and tasted as if I made this at home. It’s exactly how one would make food at home. With love and seasoning and not have any need for boat loads of MSG and salt.We ordered the set dinner combo for three which included soup + half chicken + 3 of your own choice dishes + dessert. Out the door we paid just under $60.00 tax and tip in. The service could be better but they were slammed busy. Even at 8:45 PM when we left, 85%-90% of restaurant was seated and more people were still flowing in. Giving it was a Saturday night it’s possibly skewed.
