This is a small coffee shop located near Main Street and Broadway. In addition to various drinks, they offer sandwiches, patties, and rustic homestyle baked goods. I’ve sampled their Strawberry Rhubarb Pie, Chocolate Coconut Nanaimo Bar, and Chocolate Cake, and have quite enjoyed all of their food, in particular their pie. Although it was not busy when I visited, the seating is quite limited, so it might be difficult to find a spot to sit if you visit during peak hours. Overall, I quite enjoyed my visit to the place, and I think that it probably serves as a great local hangout.Strawberry Rhubarb Pie ($5):4/5Unfortunately, the pie was quite wet and delicate, and did fall apart during the trip back home. Fortunately, it was still very tasty. The filling had a great balance between sweetness and tang, and was filled with large chunks of rhubarb. The oatmeal streussel topping provided a nice texture and sweetness. I did not care for the crust, which had gone soft and gummy, but that really didn’t bother me too much as the filling and streussel more than made up for it.Chocolate Coconut Nanaimo Bar ($3.50):4/5Their version consisted of a thin layer of chocolate cake/base topped with coconut and covered in another layer of chocolate. It was delicious for what it was. The coconut had a wonderful fragrance and texture while the chocolate melted in my mouth and was not waxy. I did find it a bit small for the price.Chocolate Cake ($3.80):3/5This was a simple dessert consisting of a piece of cake covered with thick chocolate frosting. I really liked the cake, which was very dense and fudgy, but still moist. I did find the frosting to be a bit overly sweet however (and I love sweets), and a bit lacking in chocolate flavour.Summary:Food: 3.5/5Price: 4/5Service: N/AOverall: 3.5/5Recommendations: Pie

It is my club. Membership fees are incredible affordable and they make the best cranberry bran muffins in the world. Good choice of newspaper too.
I visited the Kranky Cafe on my day off to do some writing with Sil. I had the tomato bocconcini panini with borscht soup. The panini had a nice crispt texture and went well with the soup. I transitioned to my writing with a Fancy Pants Mocha. It was delicious!
Lovely little place, very homely! Feels totally non pretentious unlike many of the cafes in the area. I ordered a medium latte and a home made choc chip cookie, both of which were yummy! Could have eaten another 10 of those cookies ;D I even bought a mug from there, in honor of my sister (due to the name, heheh!). Recommended!
Terrific! Wish it were in MY ‘hood!. Great coffee–AWESOME baking–and the workers are neato! I love Kranky.
