Finally I have a chance to drop by and try their in house cappuccino. I order the cappuccino with big wow espresso beans and my husband orders the cappuccino with cloud 9 espresso beans which won the gold award. I also order the cheese croissant to go. I dont like the way the barista makes the cappuccino…way too much foam instead of froth milk so hardly any milk inside my cappuccino. We think the barista today is way too inexperienced to make proper cappuccino today. I love the cheese croissant, very buttery and extremely tasty. The staff is very friendly though. We also bought the espresso beans: conco doro, franks and butter beans to make cappuccino at home with our espresso machine. The conco doro taste is really good and it is very smooth flavour. The taste is creamy cocoa and vanilla flavour with a little sweet aftertaste. It has no acidic taste at all. The franks beans have hazelnut cocoa flavour and butter beans have more chocolate creamy flavour. My husband likes the franks beans for home use the most while I like the conco doro the most. My husband also came here a couple of times with his colleagues ordering the cappuccino with cognac beans and he loved the cognac espresso beans. He also mentioned that his coworker said the cognac beans are by far the best he had ever tasted. Apparently their espresso beans have won awards in the world competitions for several years. Wonderful smooth coffee! I tried the hedgehog mocha ($4.00 medium) it was really delicious with an added bonus of chocolate shavings sprinkled on top. Spacious venue with full length windows spanning the wall facing the north mountains. This location usually has more mature clientle and ambient music compared to their Gastown location. More people chatting over coffee and reading newspapers instead of working on laptops.
Ive been coming here for close to 10 yrs and it has THE Best selection of espresso’s hands down! I highly recommend the cognac blend! And a great patio view!
I tried their latte here. It was just ok. I could find better latte somewhere else. A lot of hipsters like to visit this coffee shop. Students with laptops like to sit here and do their homework or research. The price of each of the beverages is reasonable or about the same like other cafes’. Overall, its quality is better than Starbucks but I would buy and drink latte somewhere else. It is hard to find free parking in this neighbourhood. There are lots of parking meters outside the coffee shop but I wouldn’t want to pay for parking just because I want to buy a coffee here.
If someone is in need of an afternoon pick me up – go no further than these guys. A wholesome cashew butter bar accompanied by an espresso with a large varietal choice of blends is the best decision I’ve made a week long trip to Vancouver. This place not only has healthy snack and wide coffee options, but a large floor space with an atmosphere for anything from personal lounging to large group mingling. The abundance of individual seating and cozy couches make this a great spot for your dollar to go towards! Gladly would hand out a fifth star if it weren’t for the dirty dish my snack was served on or the unkempt bathrooms.
