I am addicted to this place! I live across the street and it is my go to for takeout. The food is great and the portions are large for an affordable price. The restaurant itself could use a face lift but it has a sunny patio in the summer which is a nice plus.

Tiny little middle eastern canteen in Mount Pleasant. Get the takeout rather than eat in, because there’s next to no seating space and even less in the way of ambiance, but oh; the food is delightful. Big, bold portions of kebabs and schwarmas crammed with delicious lamb or beef. Definitely worth a try.
Jordyhawk. Best lentil soup there is. Light, delicate, absolutely lovely–if I were served it in a high end restaurant I’d be gushing over it. I would love to know what their secret is. They always add a teaspoon or so of tabouli–maybe that’s part of it. Then, if you sprinkle on salt (just a touch) it, the flavor just bursts out. I have lunch there as often as I can.
Warm Atmosphere/Great Food. Fresh, gluten free friendly and super moderately priced for large portions. They even have cheap gluten free beer, it’s my go to spot on main. You can tell they take pride in their food and I enjoy the variety and the daily specials. Consistently good, healthy and easy on the wallet.
