Verdict: Don’t let the dated decor scare you away… When you enter it’ll either be empty or 1-2 tables occupied, but this family run hidden gem by the #99 B-Line station serves a consistently good bowl of pho. The broth is perfectly balanced – meaty but not too fatty and full of flavour. Every time I ordered a large bowl, it was packed to the top with noodles. Service is fast because you’re probably the only one being served and the prices are below average – $8.00 for a large bowl with tax. Just skip the banh mi (just walk a couple blocks down Fraser to Ba Le for the best in town) and you have one of the most underrated pho places in the city.
After reading kevin wu’s review about the curry beef brisket noodles, I just had to try it. There’s plenty of parking all around. From the looks on the outside it doesn’t look like much. When you enter there’s alot of room inside. It looks as if this place was a European buisness at one point. Grecko style pillars and arches, coffee pictures, and a out of service ice cream case… Anyhoo, we’re here for the food!My girlfriend orders the beef pho. It’s standard here. I order number 36, the curry beef brisket soup with egg noodle. Wow… It’s savory and I love the flavors in it. It’s a touch oily so I just scooped out the oil to another bowl. Didn’t bother me at all. They were generous in the meat for the large bowl I ordered. Only downside was that the price increased. Kevin wu’s review said it was 5.95 at that time. It didn’t ruin my meal or day, that dish is delicious and I would recommend it. I’d come back again 🙂
Best Lemongrass Chicken with Noodles. The deep friend spring rolls (ch gi) and the Lemon Grass Chicken Breast with Rice Vermicelli (Bn g nng s) are the best i have had in the Vancouver area. Nha Trang’s spring rolls are as good as street food version in Hanoi. They serve good Beef Soup (Ph b) too. This place offers authentic flavours but not much atmosphere. Free parking in the back too. Really, what you see in this photo was $8 of delicious eating. Don’t forget to ask for the spring roll, for an extra $1.
Not to bad for a quick bite. I personally LOVE pho, and I’ve had bad ones. Nha Trang has pretty good noodles for a quick bite. The restaurant is not the cleanest or the prettiest, but it’s the food that matters.
I ordered a chicken sub To go and I’m 70% positive what I got is not chicken. It’s pink, the texture is off it didnt taste like chicken and it had a layer of fat not skin. I don’t want to know what it really was, I’m really hoping it was pork. Please, please be pork.
