Small pizzas and extremely paper-like. Try holding a piece together. We had it delivered a few times but the portion sizes would barely let 2 people have a basic filling meal, let alone a hearty one. Too salty too. No. Never again.
If there was a short list for awesome, thin-crust Vancouver pizza, Barbarella would easily crack the top 5.Personal favourites include the funghi, cavolini, and salsiccia.
My first impression, walking in, is that the overall vibe of the space and decor didn’t look very inviting or family-friendly. I mean, nothing about it was obviously bad, but it just felt like a cheaply slapped together bar/art space than a family pizzeria. Could use some warmth, but maybe that’s the crowd they’re going for…We ordered our food and although there was only one other table occupied, it did seem like an unusually long time before it arrived… at least 30 minutes, if not more. The spinach salad is a fair portion and was surprisingly good. We also ordered a Cavolini pizza which was recommended by the server. However, we found it to be too salty. Might have been the pancetta, or the addition of sea salt, but overall it was too much. The crust is great, thin and crispy-chewy. Perhaps a different pizza would have proven more enjoyable. That said, we did like the pizza. Not sure I would bring the family though, seems more like the space was tailored for an older crowd in mind.
Great location & very kids friendly! Excellent service and the best choice to have pizza & wine! Only feedback is all pizzas taste too salty, guess dough needs to be improved
Pizza was alright. Did not like the veggies on the top. Side sauces were good and they didn’t have any ketchup.. Which I’m a fan of. Overall it was good but not that great.
First time to Pizzeria Barbarella and I’m sure it won’t be our last. The dough was slightly chewy but it was perfectly crisp on the bottom and on the edges. Large pieces, the pizza is cut into quarters and not eighths. Honestly, could eat a whole pizza to myself. Lucky to get a table at 6 pm before the rush of people but waiting for the pizza was brutal. Long wait for a pizza that should be in and out of the oven in seconds. However, we did see loads of people carting boxes of pizza out the door, so that makes sense why the wait was so long! Definately will be coming back to try their other pizza combinations! instagram.com
What a delightful pizza place. Some very unique combinations of toppings, like artichokes, olives, onions, tomatoes and arugula with pesto sauce. They also have an extensive draft beer list with lots of options from local breweries. It just had a nice vibe.
