Decent food and good portions. The garlic fries were super delicious and totally worth it. The fish & chips were perfectly fried albeit a bit on the heavier side if you have to go back to work right after.
The food is awesome. Uh, buffalo fries, enough said. The beer is awesome, and delicious, and in my opinion, practically a health drink. Sure the patio looks out over a parking lot but why are you looking away from your food, beer, and friends anyway?
Nice and simple menu. Partial service: order and pay, get a number on a stick, they bring it to your seat. Food is OK (remember: it’s a Truck Stop!). Mac and cheese very mild and saucy. Generous portion. Coleslaw is a very coarse Asian cabbage sweet vinegar version. I liked it, but would shave the coarse bottom stalks thinner. Loud 70’s Rock inside. Live music weekends. Lovely patio with umbrellas, and a few wasps who love the colour red… Tables not wiped down, trays not washed between orders (mine had a hair on it). Great choices, low key place. Free wifi. I will return to try brunch…
The old staff was nice but the new staff is so rude/mean! They make fun of the way the customers look close enough to the customers that the customers can actually hear them! The beer and the food is okay; my work lunch group used to come here about twice a month but after the last few times we just can’t go back again.
I didn’t even know there was a diner here?!I’ll definitely have to check the food out another day.Just got a few kegs here. Your looking at 180 bucks for 50 litres with pump system. Just remember to keep them ice cold somewhere. Tub or hot tub with tons of ice, or else your gonna get alot of foam. Pawtie down vancity!
Literally, top 3 worst meals I think I’ve had. Tomato soup was basically liquid salt. The burgers were so dry they were inedible. The grilled cheese was four hamburger buns flipped inside out with some cheese, lettuce, onion, tomato and sauce squirted in the middle: disgusting. Terrible food. I gave this place a 1.5 because the service was OK and the beer isn’t bad… DRINK BUT DO NOT EAT HERE.
My boyfriend took me here for lunch. The service was friendly and prompt. I had the fish and chips and it was tasty beyond my expectations. The batter for the fish was thick, crunchy, and seasoned well. The fish itself was moist. The fries had the right crispness to it. The tartar sauce was so good. Fish and chips usually comes with coleslaw, but this one came with a salad that was lightly dressed, which I really liked because it made the meal feel more balanced instead of being too heavy. It is by far the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! We will be back for more.
