There have been quite a few ice cream places that opened up in the lower mainland in the last couple of years and I have not gone out of my way to want to try them all out. I have not tried them all but I somehow stumbled upon this one, ’cause I was in the neighborhood. We tried the Blueberry Balsamic and the Avocado Lime & Vodka. The flavor was really good, but the texture of the ice cream was not my style. I felt like it was in between a regular ice cream and a soft serve. The lady was very nice and let me try the flavors out before we ordered. I would want to try other places to see if the new trend is an in between soft serve and ice cream.
This place is kind of in the middle of nowhere, tucked into a residential area along Broadway. It’s a small place and not the fanciest decor, but the ice cream is good. I’ve seen a variety of flavours and haven’t been disappointed with the flavours I had. At night there are more people. I’ve been there in the middle of the day and was the only customers there. Their dark chocolate is very chocolatey and ready delicious. Although some of their flavours are similar to Earnest Ice Cream and Rain or Shine, they do have some unique flavours. If you’re along Broadway, you should check this place out. I would say to get it in a cup though, because they don’t make their own cones.
Best Salted Caramel in Vancouver.I’ve tried all the top ice cream parlours in Vancouver and in terms of taste and texture, Rooster’s is tops. The prices are comparable but the serving sizes are a little small.
I had been seeing this place all over Instagram so I thought I’d give it a try since people have been loving it so much! It’s a bit hidden and isolated but it wasn’t hard to find. When I walked in, it was empty which I thought it’d be very busy considering all the buzz it has been getting. None the less, it lived up to my expectations. The worker there was very nice and she recommended me the avocado ice cream. When I first saw it on the board, I was thinking no way but I tried a sample and wow! It was so refreshing!
This is great ice cream shop with a nice combination of flavours. The woman that helped me was very nice and let me taste almost all the flavours.
Vancouver is going crazy with ice cream shops! Rooster’s ice cream reminds me very much of Earnest and Rain or Shine. Although it isn’t the prettiest ice cream shop you will see, they do have some pretty great flavors. However, the big no no for me was their ice cream melted way too fast.. In fact, they all started to drip just when I finished paying at the cashier. Also they don’t do fresh waffle cones like some other places do. But if you are in the area, and you want to get yourself some tasty ice cream, do check them out! instagram.com
This icecream place is in a residential area surrounded by condos and apartments on East Broadway. It stays away from busy areas like restaurants on Main Street, Cambie Street, downtown and etc. I tried their mint chocolate icecream and my boyfriend tried the triple strawberry icecream. The triple strawberry icecream was better than the mint chocolate one. I liked the icecream here, but I still like Earnest Icecream more or the best among all the icecream stores in Metro Vancouver.
