Unfortunately since the original owner is unable to cook food, his wife does it instead now. No offence, but how can a person with Japanese background be able to make an authentic Jamaican food? We ordered jerk chicken, oxtail Stew and rotti. I heard the microwave sounds coming from the kitchen and I already knew the food wouldnt be good. We waited a good 20min for our food to arrive and when we got it it was very cold and tasteless. I made jerk chicken before that tasted nothing like this. I could tell the meat was not fresh and when we were ready to pay our appetizer arrived (rotti). Are you kidding me? The place itself is very depressing inside, never mind the food. Not the place I used to know! Too bad.

They have some good menu items there, and it is a good place to eat.The owner recently had a stroke, and his wife was running the place all by herself. Her effort is nothing short of Herculean in spite of her being unable to have fish available, time being in short supply for but one person. I admire her efforts as much as I crave the food. Recommended!

This hidden gem is amazing, just UNREAL MAN. Have you ever had a spicy Jamaican beef patty?!?? They are absolutely delicious!!!They are 2.75each. The owner is ken and the wife is junko, an amazing chef WOW! The decor is beautiful and yes, that’s a real lion inside his establishment. If your a vancouverite you gotta try it here, Phenomenal!They are such a cute couple. Who would’ve thought Japanese /Caribbean fused food. Absolutely wonderful!
Japaribbean! Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. We hit this place a lot for breakfast, cheap, great and the atmosphere is perfect to start the day. Dinner Id recommend the jerk chicken with a patty to go for midnight snack. Awesome owner as well, you’re in for a treat!
