Just like we do with Olympic judges, I always toss out the high and the low reviews. I also suggest that you review your reviewer; How many reviews have they done? Are they given to superlatives? Are they only here to complain? This restaurant is not a 1 or a 5. It is a solid 3 to 4 depending on the day or what you order. It is run and staffed by Korean and Japanese folks and it feels like they take pride in the food that is part of their heritage The wait staff is friendly and efficient and the dining room is comfortable and appropriately themed. If is was in my neighbourhood, it might be my go to place.I had the Assorted Nigiri Combo on one visit. It was quite good. The tuna seemed particularly buttery. The rice well prepared. I have noticed that few of the places in the Valley put wasabi between the rice and fish ( I think that is the correct preparation) and I assume that has to do with the fact that most of their customers do not have a taste for it. I have no problem with adding my own wasabi but i would prefer that they followed the tradition if I am correct about that. I had the Takoyaki which was very tasty but since they had run out and could not give me a full order they did not charge me. Very nice! On another visit I decided to try one of their own creations, Tofu Twist. I enjoyed it but it was basically Takoyaki made with tofu. I also had Katsu Don which is not on many Valley Sushi menus. It was delicious and a generous portion. The Katsu was nicely crispy but had soaked in the flavours around it which is the reason for a donburi preparation. Reasonably priced and with an interesting and extensive menu, Hitori is worth checking out. yeswereeatingagain.com

Best sushi place in the area. Food is always delicious and fresh, plus the staff are super friendly. I always come here whenever I am in town.

One of the worst in Langley. The sunomono salad was rubbery. The dynamite roll was A California roll. Although the nigiri was fresh, it was bland due to no wasabi. The Katsu don had vegetables that should never be in it, such as red pepper cabbage and broccoli. To top it off the service was like molasses. Much better off to stick with hanabi sushi near Safeway!

Amazing fresh sushi. Their specialty rolls including the snow white and ocean dream roll are amazing! The Hitori Tower is sooo good. Each time we visit they are incredibly kind and give us extra ginger and something free for our patronage. MMMMMMM. LOVE THEM

I have eaten at a lot of sushi restaurants, at many price points ($-$$$) and this is hands down, without question the BEST! It’s very fresh with great flavours. Everything I have had so far has been amazing. If you’ve never been here and are considering it – do it! You won’t be disappointed! (Spicy tuna combo photo attached)

Super fresh sashimi! The rolls are super yummy. The tempura was super crispy and I liked the selection they had! The sauce for the spicy combo was a little bit spicy but I’m sure that can be adjusted to taste if you ask beforehand!
