Their food is my favourite … authentic South Indian cuisine… I love their Chicken Biriyani (spicy) the most..yum.. I dont know how many times Ive ordered that same item… Tried their Tanjore masala dosa, Onion Dosa & Lassi… Onion Dosa is a good try.. only thing .. they could provide more of the tomato chutney (which they give very very little) Good to dine in too.. have done that a couple times… But preferred take outs.Overall- a place that would call me back…
This is good South Indian/Lankan comfort food. It’s a menu that is impossible to mess up on… whatever you get will put a smile on your face Masala Dosai is a classic and done well. Soft and pliable but crispy on the edges! Poori is flaky but soft, just like their parathas. The Kothu could be a bit spicier but otherwise the flavours were outta control good. If you are around Surrey and okay with sleeping away the afternoon in a food coma, check it out!
South Indian food, where have you been all my life! Excuse me while I feel a little bad that I have taken over 50 years to eat my first dosa. I plan to make up for that in the future! My partner and I started with the Idly/Vada combo ( we had watched a documentary about the food in Tamil Nadu and knew what we wanted to try) and loved the freshly grated coconut chutney, another more spicy chutney and sambar ( basically a lentil chowder made with tamarind broth). The Idly are little steamed cakes of rice and urad dal (lentils) that are perfect for soaking up the side dishes. We also had Karaikudi Chettinadu Dosa. Dosa are large very thin crepes. Soft on the inside and crispy outside. Delicious! This one was wrapped around a delicious potato masala. We also had the Chicken Chettinadu (the only dish to make me sweat), which is an amazing stew of tender chicken and vegetables and chilies served with 2 puri, lovely puffed bread. On a previous visit I had the Gobi 65 (basically cauliflower pakora) which was amazing and my very first Masala Dosa. Run by a lovely south Indian couple, this place is wonderful. For sure my new go-to in Newton! yeswereeatingagain.com
