Came here a little late, after the usual dinner rush. Service was good. We were served by the owner as there wasn’t a waiter on at the moment. He refilled our water lots, made a bit of small talk about the weather and asked us how the food was. Food was great, I got the Athenian Chicken which came with a potato, rice and sone Greek salad. Everything tasted great. Came with some complimentary little bread that was some sort of baked dough. I can’t remember what it was called but it was light and lightly seasoned. We were able to use it to wipe up the leftover sauces from our dishes. I would definitely recommend this place. Comes to almost $20 a plate and was worth it.
The greek corner. I was excited to try out this relatively new greek place near my house. there seems to be a new greek restaurant popping up every few months in surrey, or is it just me? anyways, i have been to this location before when it was called jim’s or john’s taverna (can’t remember the name-most likely john’s). there was an improvement in the quality of food and a hop, skip, and a jump of an improvement in the quality of service. usually, if i just get takeout, i don’t comment on the service; but in the short time i was there, i was warmly greeted by 3 people, chatted up by 2 people, and offerered ice water by 1 person. the food (the good): we really enjoyed their pita (garlicky, toasty, and fresh), greek salad (fresh cut crunchy veggies with good quality olives) and the bechamel topping for the moussaka was the best i’ve ever had (creamy without being heavy, smooth, and perfectly seasoned). yummy rice and potatoes too. the food, in general, was tasty.the food (the not so good): the lamb souvlaki was tasty but overdone (i’m guessing it continued cooking in the heat of the takeout container-something they might want to take into consideration). and the meat and veggie filling for the moussaka could’ve used quite a bit more seasoning. i would like to come back and try dining in next time around and bask in their friendly service
Fabulous Greek food & a welcoming host in Yanni. Have been twice now & can’t wait to return!
AMAZING. Just the title says it all, Amazing food open for lunch and the safest place in Newton to park your car and eat lunch lolGo you wont regret it at all!
Authentic Greek food with a delicious kick! Seasonings and spices all used to enhance traditional Greek food but serves it with delectable flare! And not your everyday greek food options either! And the desserts are all made from scratch by his wife. Can’t say enough how much i loved my experience. Decor is classic sleek Greek but refreshing at the same time. Owners are lovely people as well. I highly recommend this place. It’s a wonderful surprise!
