Fuji Market is a no-frills, take-out place. They are much better than your average supermarket deli or hot food counter, but also not a sit-down restaurant. Set the right expectations and hopefully you will enjoy some good highly affordable food as we did. We had some pre-made sushi that was quite reasonable for the price at $3.95 for eight piece Salmon Maki and $5.50 for eight pieces of Salmon Avocado Roll. The sukiyaki beef rice bowl at $8.50 had authentic flavor though it offered little beef. The chicken teriyaki was actually chicken karaage with teriyaki sauce on top — it was tasty, but I expect grilled chicken for teriyaki. The tempura bento box was a bargain at $12 with miso soup, a california roll and a healthy portion of tempura. The batter was a bit heavy, but again, good for the price. Given there is little choice in Whistler for Asian fare, this is a nice simple option if you need a rice bowl or some sushi that isn’t overpriced as the rest of Whistler is. We did not try the ramen. Unspectacular fare, but one of the better values in Whistler and hit the spot for what we wanted after 5 days here. Will definitely be back.
Fantastic Fuji Market!. I LOVE Fuji Market. The dishes are inexpensive and very tasty, the staff are hospitable and polite, and the seating area is a plus! I would recommend Fuji Market to anyone looking for a great tasting lunch apres ski or a late dinner. The only VERY minor downside is that, due to it’s more remote location, some people find it hard to locate. It’s just off the side of the main village for anyone who is wondering.Happy eating!
Great value!. I have been living in Whistler for 14 years, and Fuji Market is a great, innovative market/cafe/restaurant.The sushi is always fresh, and the price can’t be beat! While you’re waiting, you can browse the aisles for all of the imported Japanese groceries (and sweeties), and the staff & owners are always happy to help and answer questions (and even help with Japanese cooking instructions!)Their flower shop, Senka florist is also the best in town!
The best to-go sushi in whistler. Also has a great sit in area.
Wonderful Experience & a New Favourite. Sorry Domi, there must indeed be something wrong with your taste buds! We’ve tried meals on both sides of Fuji -the market take out and the restaurant and had service that puts a lot of Whistler restaurants to shame. The sushi was clean and fresh tasting, the bibimbap was great – love the calamari tentacles and the chicken wings! A great ambience, very courteous and helpful service and fits any budget.I highly recommend it.
Love it. I eat lunch from Fuji Market 3-4 times week. Always have had great food & service. Ramen is very yummy. Sushi from the cooler hasn’t missed yet.
NASTY AND MOLDY TASTING. I had the worst experience ever at Fuji Market. I had the sweet and sour pork dish with vegetable. I found the meat on the modly side. I approached the cashier at Fuji market and told her i tasted something funny. She said on know Sir there is nothing wrong with the dish. It must be your taste buds. Maybe you dont like the dish?? I said to her you calling me a lair? no response i just walked out and have never returned back horrible service
