The food is quite fresh, but their prices are outrageous. $19.99 for 100 g! My small portion of noodles and meat turned out to be $26.75. For that price, I could have eaten a steak dinner. Also, we had a stroller with a sleeping baby in it and the hostess told us that the stroller wasn’t allowed in for space reasons. Totally understandable so I go around to leave and just as I was doing so, I see a family with their huge stroller seated at a table…I go back and question the hostess and she said that that particular table was the only place they could accommodate a stroller. Gee, thanks for letting us know…In the end, we ended up waiting only 5 minutes for that table as they had already paid and were about to leave.
My friends and I had dinner here a few days ago. Upon entrance, we noticed that the place looked fancier than the one in Vancouver (but we didn’t know why). We were seated quickly and greeted warmly by Brie who was our server. She told us that the rice and soup were free. My friends and I lined up to put our food on the bowls, and I was shocked to find out my bowl cost $18! My friend’s bowl overflowed and ended up spending a whopping $51!! Unfortunately, we didn’t know exactly how much the food would cost, but we did see that it was $19/lb. My food was delicious and we were all pleased except for the cost. I think that’s expected though because Whistler is a tourist spot. The service was great and the place was very nice. I don’t think I will be back but it was a good first and last experience.
This place is pretty awesome; the food is customizable, and getting vegetarian stir fry is cheaper than getting meat. Their also attentive about using clean spatulas for vegetarians and gluten intolerant people. Great place to go with a group.
This place is similar to regular Mongolian grill restaurants, except that it is very expensive. The price is based on plate. Vegetarian plates are 20% off, and so is lunch before 4pm. We shared a vegetarian plate while others have their own plates. The salmon, scallops and shrimps are worth trying out. With the right sauces, you can customize to your taste, which we did!
I had never been to Mongolie Grill until my boyfriend took me there about 2 months ago. I now go about once a week!! The staff are always friendly and welcoming and I love the options, I can have a different meal every time I go!Try to go before 4pm, there’s 20% off and it’s usually quieter then as well.
Wouldn’t go back — so expensive for what you get!. Let me start this by saying the food is fine at Mongolie Grill. It’s basically stir-fry that you create yourself. You stand in line once you’ve placed the items you want in your bowl, and they grill it on a grill for you. They do have gluten free options, which is nice, and they clean the grill well if you tell them you are gluten free. However, there is no guarantee that the other items in the buffet-style line have not been accidentally contaminated by other patrons. That said, it is extremely expensive for what you get. The food is something like $18 a pound for what you put in your bowl, and it’s easy to put too much food in your bowl, even if it looks like a normal amount. For a party of seven (with $100 worth of drinks), dinner was $400. We did not have an excessive amount of food in our bowls, and were shocked by the bill. We won’t be going back, since we could have had a nice steak dinner at one of the nicer restaurants in Whistler for that price.
