Amazing food! Had the seared scallops, seafood risotto and the sticky toffee pudding. Every bite was delicious. Will return when I’m back in Whistler. Worth every penny.
I got an app, a main, couple oysters (vodka + creme fraiche) and a bottle of wine. Even though it was extremely expensive, it was nothing short of amazing. The seared scallops on roasted pork belly was a good introduction to the mixed grill that I had. I was so impressed that I came back the next day to try the ahi tuna, and it was also very good. Would recommend!
RImrock Cafe. My second visit to the Rimrock Cafe and it was just as terrfic as the first. We had a party of 12 and they gave a 3 course menu to choose from. My selections included the mussels, salmon and sticky toffee cake. The service was also excellent. N.16 May, 2014This is the perfect time to be in Whistler. It’s the shoulder season between winter and summer, and all the top restaurants have incredible 4 and 5 courses affordable for the working guy. Rimrock was recommended to me by a longtime resident of Whistler. Thursday nights 4 course meal was the best I have experienced in quite a long time. I had the Sauteed Wild Mushroom Salad, Scallops with Pork Belly (OMG YUM), the Mixed Grill (medium rare and so good) and Sticky Toffee Pudding. Rimrock Cafe is now my go-to restaurant in Whistler.
We had a great meal here tonight. Had the specials: Arctic Char, and seafood trio of salmon, ahi tuna and sablefish. Our server, Venetia, made it welcoming & fun. She also provided a great wine recommendation.
As excellent as we hoped. I ate dinner here about 3 years ago with a good friend and was extremely impressed. In Whistler 2 years ago with the family we tried to visit over the Christmas period only to be told of a 100 booking wait list. Returning to Whistler for Xmas/NY 2013/2014 this became a ‘simply must do’ on our list.I mention this particularly as my review differs completely from one just posted on Jan 7 – the same night we visited. With a build up to the visit like my family had had one could expect disapointment to come very easily. Rim Rock did not disappoint. It was simply excellent. From service, to food to wine and wine advice we could not fault the place. Our starters included the local bread, the Calamari, the prawn cocktail and the seared tuna. Mains were rack of lamb, salmon, mixed grill and lobster. We enjoyed everything completely. The food was of extremely high quality and well balanced with respect to flavors, textures and other foodie important parameters. Yes with cocktails, wine and After dinner drinks it wasn’t a cheap night out but it was on a par with what I expected.Great place and still very, very happy to reccomend it. Currently the friend that I originally dined here with and I are both sitting on 2 visits each to RIm Rock and I am sorely tempted to push that to 3-2 by visiting again before we leave town!Oh and 2 hours later there are no upset stomachs and 3 out of 4 of us are sound asleep! Enjoy!
Good not great. Went to dinner Xmas week. Food was good-ordered the venison and filet but the meat wasn’t as flavorful as those cuts should be. The service was too attentive. whenever we looked up from our table the waiter was there, and asked us several times during each course if everything was OK. it was too much, kind of felt like we were being stalked. loved the kids menu, finally something that wasn’t just burgers, pizza and grilled cheese.
In the tourist trap wasteland of whistler we were really thrilled with the experience here. The food was great. The lobster bisque had a unique light nutty flavour. The duck two ways tasted perfect. The venison was amazing. The dessert sampler for two was Delish. More than that the service was so friendly and our waitress was a real pro. Great smile and she knew her wines. This place was friendly with zero pretension. The prices aren’t cheap but easily worth it for food and service that top notch.
