Amazing food every time! Love everything on their menu, can never decide a favourite. Such a cool place. Would definitely recommended over and over again.
The pulled pork and grilled cheese on gf bread is so unbelievably great. Another amazing favourite of mine is the Buddha bowl, which anyone I have ever spoken to and tried, loves it. The breakfast bowls are so delicious, mmmmmm on the bagels w cream cheeze. And the chicken noodle soup is so yummy on a cold day! The house salad dressing is homemade and that is also one of my favourites. Service is great, staff is all the bomb and goes out of their way to make your experience perfect. Everything is cruelty free, which right off the bat I will give a 5 * review for, everything else is the icing on the cake!! The girls who own/operate are a sister team with tons of compassion and passion for the animals they save everyday in the business.
Went with my family with high expectations, but we were all disappointed. Introduced at Taste of Kelowna and loved the cupcakes, so gave dinner a try. We ordered 3 different options, burger, and the 2 bowls. The vegetables were burnt, the beef tips were hard as a rock and the Buddha bowl was tasteless. The Hula burger was tasty but the fries were like cardboard. We wanted it to be good, but won’t be back. Too bad.
This place just keeps getting better! I was veg curious earlier this year and have been going here since they opened in February. The menus are always getting updated and they always have lots of features and off menu specials. I literally could live off of Naked Cafe.
It was my first time here with a friend of mine who is vegan. She LOVED it! For me personally, I was disappointed they didn’t have more options without the fake meat. When I think of a vegan restaurant I think of really creative dishes made with fruits, veggies, and whole grains. These girls are on the right track, but if I was to make one suggestion it would be to add more of these type dishes together. I had the caesar salad, which had delicious dressing.. but all it was was romaine lettuce, dressing, and fake bacon bits. I ate it but it wasn’t very satisfying, If they added a bit more substance to the salad it would be a lot better, like croutons and chick peas or something like that. Oh she glows has an unreal caesar salad recipe which I suggest they check out. The soup was good and the fries were out of this world delicious! I wouldn’t say I would recommend going to this place, because I personally don’t enjoy the fake meat.. but for a vegan that wants to feel like they’re eating some meat I’d say go for it (or make your own bean patty at home).Naked Cafe ladies: PLEASE add some more creative veggie dishes! Zucchini noodles with pesto, creative salads, salad rolls, lettuce wraps, all that good stuff 🙂
Naked cafe is awesome! The food is great and the family run sister team is doing a great job! Keep it up! I dream of the hula burger… The last comment is ridiculous, you need to try this place!
Needs some work.. I was a regular when this place was the Sahara: although the decor was simple, it was warm, they played chill reggae or hip-hop beats, and you could chill and enjoy a hookah. Now I would say the place has taken a step down. The decor is white and blue, which reminds me somewhat of a cheap, cold diner. They had top 40 pop blasting from the speakers, to the point where we decided to move. The vegan menu is filled with cheap meat substitutes, which is the opposite of what I look for when I go to a vegan spot, I much prefer original use of vegetables and spices. Both the burger and the chilli were sub-par. The couches close to the door are uncomfortable. We only got one coal on our hookah (sahara gave out two), which is okay, but I asked for another and without informing me we were charged for it. I used to order the house blend, but it was not on the menu and I found whatever shisha they were using to be extremely weak, and both strawberry and orange tasted almost the same. All in all, I felt it was a pretty huge step down in almost every dimension. I was stoked to bring my lady to the chill hookah spot we always chilled at when it was Sahara, but was kind of embarrassed after having brought her here. Hopefully they iron out the wrinkles. The girl working there was super nice. My suggestions: more art, warmer decor, comfier couches, chiller music (your demographic isn’t the top-40 type), less flakey meat substitutes, and bring back the house blend.Cheers guys, best of luck.
