I’ve lived 20+ years in Kelowna and never made it to Shady Rest until last night. Decided to try it out because my son loves real fish and chips and demands malt vinegar. Unfortunately, I had an Entertainment Book online coupon for $8 off a second meal. Nope, Shady Rest wouldn’t honour it, said they hadn’t had Entertainment coupons for 10 or more years. We walked out. What a scam. They might have got two new regular customers.
Went here with my parents one minute before closing! The place was empty but they were nice enough to still serve us. We got two of the two-piece halibut with chips. It was the real deal wrapped in newspaper and everything! When we brought it home we saw they gave us a few extra pieces in there as well – so nice of them. The fish was very light and melted on the tongue. The chips were great too! Definitely will go here again.
best Fish n Chips i have ever had…….better than Cockney Kings for those from the lower mainland…………………………………..
