Did George retire and sell? I have been going to George’s for over 23 years. Whenever I come to Vancouver’s North Shore I pop into Lonsdale Quay for a souvlaki donair at George’s. This summer I noticed that the family pictures of George and his family are no longer on display and the menu seemed to have undergone some changes. Encouraged by the line up, I went ahead and ordered my usual. I’m so sad to say it was the first time in 23 years I was disappointed. It was not the delicious Greek goodness I have loved from George’s for so long. It was plain and ordinary at best. End of an era I’m afraid…
I used to only get their calamari because it is great, but I ventured a little more into their other menu items and was pleasantly surprised. Great classic Greek food. Potatoes and chicken are always great along with their Greek Salads. Good to go for lunch or earlier in the afternoon, as sometimes they run out of things.
I frequent the Lonsdale Quay often and this place is awesome. The souvlaki plate and donairs are tasty and quick. The service is friendly and the price is fair. 🙂
