Delicious!!! I don’t understand the low rating! I got the picante pizza and added arugula. It was amazing. We wanted to go to Nicli Atica Pizzaria in Gastown for their wood fire oven baked pizza but instead decided to go here because we didn’t feel like venturing downtown in the rain….and it was more than worth it. Not only was is just as delicious but it was close to home! I am a lover of wood fire oven baked pizza with flavorful sauce and cheese and this hit everything I was looking for. The only reason I didn’t give it 5/5 is because i wasn’t a fan of the decor; it was a little too open and sparse. Regardless, I will definitely return because their pizza is amazing! What a hidden gem!
We visited this restaurant many times and it never disappointed us. It is the best pizza on North Shore. I think people give this restaurant low ratings because they expect American Style pizza. Pizzas in Il Castello are Italian style with thin crust and a few very balanced quality ingredients. Do not expect to find loads of cheap mozzarella on their pizzas.
Super tasty neapolitan style thin crust pizza, laid-back vibe and friendly staff, what’s not to like! Unexpectedly, potato is one of my favourite toppings there. Weekend evenings are busy so expect to wait a bit for a table.
I’m not sure why this place is rated so low. The restaurant is a little sparse inside, but the old Tarot cards and Italian maps give it a bit of character. The pizza is really the best on the North Shore. Via Tevere still is probably king in Metro Van but this place is cranking out some solid Pie.Try : The Arugula Salad with Parsnips and fire roasted tomatoes with a wicked vinaigretteThe Bianca pizzaThe Piccante pizzaIt’s only open for dinner and it’s sleepy North Shore hours so plan accordingly. Great addition to the North Shore!. This place is incredible. I emailed the owner, asking if it would be possible to make a reservation for 20 people for my friends surprise birthday. Not only did they accommodate us they went above and beyond! The set up of the space is beautiful, very open but also inviting. You go up to the front to order drinks and your food. Drinks were made quickly, and the pizza was out of the oven in no time. Not to mention this pizza is some of the best pizza I have ever had, and the price is great! Our group ordered one of each kind, and kept going back for more of the SALSICCIA. Crust was thin, nice crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Great to share or just on your own! A perfect addition to the North Shore, an amazing place to bring your friends and family! Have already been back!
Tried Il Castello for the first time last night. It is a new concept for Lower Lonsdale – order your food and drinks at the counter then grab a seat. But it feels nothing like fast food. The atmosphere was bustling although the setting is nice and open. The pizza was delicious with lots of fresh toppings (mushrooms on the Funghi were amazing), and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back!
