Beer heaven does exist!!!!!!. After visiting the Jack Lonsdale’s public house I was left with a smile on my face . I never cook at home and am on the run all day so I depend on pubs and restaurants to feed me while working through out the day. Hopefully I have more work in north van so I can revisit them frequently. Also everywhere you looked they had a big flat screen tv so i didn’t have to break my neck trying to watch a game. Not only was the food amazing but the selection of beer on tap what unreal. More selection then all the restaurants together here in north vancouver. I felt like it was my own restaurant when I walked in. I had 2 beautiful smiles greet me at the door then was walked over to my table and seated. The decor and modern look of the place made me feel really comfortable, I don’t want to start on the clean roomy bathrooms they had. I highly recommend to try this place out. If it’s not for food then it should be for the awesome beer selection they have: 10/10 in my books
I went for food, and now my tummy hurts.. Yesterday was my first time in Jack Lonsdale. I was looking for a place to eat after 10 pm around Lonsdale. Service was fine, the servers were kind, the beer was ok, normal, but the fish and chips I asked for were terrible. Really oily and the coleslaw was just shredded cabbage, really simple. My friend got Tuna Tacos and there where cold! I don t know how can some people call tacos to a cold flour tortilla. Was expensive and really the price doesn t match the quality of the food. Never going again. At least not for food.
Hospitality Veteran. Probably the worst managed pub in the history of pubs!! The story is too long to go into detail, but it dealt with appies that were not included on their Happy Hour menu and we the guests are supposed to be mind readers and know this before we order rather than being informed by either the hostess or server. The manger was rude, argumentative and condescending, but wait he was the owners son so he can get away with it. He was a punk who couldn’t manage his way out of a wet paper bag…..brutal. He made it clear he only wanted to argue before giving us the honored discount of 5.00 this place is obviously really struggling since the renos and their insane dress code( be sure you read the mangers response to the dress code change below its hilarious) Queens Cross and Rusty Gull enjoy increased business levels, Can’t wait for my response from the team at Lonsdales.
Is this a pub or a night club?. Management is trying way too hard to change the image of this ‘pub’ into a typical Joey’s/Cactus Club trendy template you see everywhere these days. You do not turn down customers for wearing work clothes, even Joey’s and Cactus would never do this. This is not some VIP bottle service night club, its a god damn pub in central Lonsdale. Stop trying to be something you are not. I understand you want to change your clients from drunken old people to a young urban crowd, but in the long run you are going to hurt your business.
The reno that they did is amazing. I love the atmosphere and staff. I have eaten there a couple times to try out the menu, but honestly it needs to be revamped. I have never finished what I have ordered because it has been not good. I am rooting for you so I hope you do something about this. I will come back to try again.

Went there for a work meeting to have a beer, was told i had to leave as i was wearing work clothing so i left and went to the rusty gull for better food and cheaper drinks. Might have been back and spent more numerous times as it is a block away from my house and my friends and i all enjoy going out for more than a few bevys and to watch a game or ten but i would way rather spend my money where it is appreciated. Ps jack lonsdales, you are a pub, nothing less, nothing more.
