Was craving some sushi and found this place at Lonsdale Quay on the way back to the seabus. Little Tokyo is a tiny place that does dine-in or take-out. The menu had way more items than what I had expected given, being biased from the size of the restaurant. I ended up ordering the Salmon and Tuna Sashimi Don and the Spicy Tuna roll with tempura shrimp and avocado. The sashimi was fresh and the roll was pretty decent. I would certainly come back here when I’m hanging out at Lonsdale.
Crunch Roll. It has yam and prawn tempuras, and some crispies go on top of the roll with spicy mayo and teriyaki sauce. I loved the crunchy texture and taste.
Dont buy the bento box. Sushimi bento box was the worst ripp off ever, i cant even believe its called all day lunch special there was no miso, no tempura, no california roll, no rice, and no salad dressing lol…all for 10 and something cents…service was average as they did not offer water or tea..never coming back here again lol
Great food, great service. Little Tokyo is probably one of the best sushi restaurants in North Van for its price. It’s right next to the seabus so it’s a great place to stop by for lunch. The service was great, really friendly, and the food was good. The sashimi was really fresh and just great!
Gem on the North Shore. Having moved from downtown where sushi restaurants are abundant, inexpensive and good, I have struggled to find a great place on the North Shore. Then, by chance as I was heading home from work, I stopped in Little Tokyo for a snack to take away. The rolls were tasty, a great size, and the people were extremely friendly. I have had take out quite a few times since and it has been just as good. Also, the restaurant is cozy and would be a great little place to enjoy sushi inside as well. This is my new neighborhood favorite. Before you go there, you might be tempted to check out some reviews (I always do that). Had I done that for this restaurant, I may not have gone because I have seen some unpleasant reviews. However, I noticed that most of those reviews were posted before 2009…. so don’t worry about those. Apparently, this restaurant changed ownership after that time. I feel extremely lucky to have stumbled into this place without checking the reviews and wrongly judging it. From my recent experiences, I highly recommend you try this place! But don’t all go at once… I would also kind of like to keep this place to myself 🙂
