I was just strolling down memory on lonsdale ave. When I was growing up on the north shore, there wasn’t many Vietnamese restaurants.I noticed this location and decided to give it a try.The service is fantastic 5/5. Restaurant is half full.I ordered the bun thit. It looked visually promising, however…sadly it did not meet my expectations.My girlfriend is Vietnamese and I’ve tasted alot of Vietnamese food, North and South. What pho spot produced tasted like the recipe was modified for a western palate. It sounds harsh I know but I’m sorry. And this is just my own opinion. Your gonna get 5 star service, but I won’t be back for the food.
We came here because the two restaurants we planned to dine at were busy. First time I came here and I was hoping for good authentic Vietnamese food. The owners spoke Vietnamese and the menu had Vietnamese writing so I figured it was good place to eat. I ordered Bun Bo Hue and my coworker ordered Pho #13 and we also ordered Vietnamese coffee. What can I say except shame on them for not making proper Bun Bo Hue. This is not proper way of making it. I know about Vietnamese food because I’m Vietnamese. They use the wrong meat for Bun Bo Hue. It is just so wrong and my face couldn’t even hide my disappointment. Oh God, the soup base is nothing remotely close to Bun Bo Hue flavour. I don’t know what kind of crap that is but it is not bun bo hue. My coworker also didn’t like his Pho either. The only good thing there was the Vietnamese coffee which was correct way of making it. I rather eat McDonalds than going back here
