I and some friends had a fantastic meal at Padella. We started with the eggplant fries which were wonderful. They were flavourful, light and ever so delicious. I think even non-eggplant fans would find something to like about them. We also had the house marinated olives which, again, were lovely. I had the spaghetti and meat balls. I don’t eat beef, so it was a treat to have spaghetti & meatballs, given the meatballs were chicken. Rather than a tomato sauce, the sauce was white beans, leeks and herbs. It was one of the most tasty dishes I have had in a while. Absolutely delicious. My friends had the pasta alla norma and the flat iron steak. They both very much enjoyed their meals. The service was attentive and friendly and the vibe, welcoming. We didn’t have a reservation and there was no ‘attitude’ about this, just a warm welcome and a desire to find us a table, even though the restaurant was busy. I look forward to returning and would not hesitate to recommend it.

What a lovely place. Great atmosphere and wine selection. The prices are very reasonable. I can’t stress how much I loved the oxtail gnocchi and the white chocolate panna cotta. Could return for this combo any time. Is it all great ? Certainly not, the ragu was very disappointing. So was some of the appetizers. But oxtail gnocchi plus the panna cotta saves the day. Overall, Victoria needs more restaurants like Padella.
