Neighborhood Grocery Store with delicious Indian Take Away! An unexpected discovery.. I recently moved to Victoria and was looking up places to potentially distribute a new product I will be selling and I came across Willows Park Grocery. I checked out there website and was confused a bit by what they offered…a finely curated selection of grocery items featuring many local favorites like Cold Comfort ice cream AND exceptional Indian Take Away. Wha?! It seemed like an odd combination but it stuck in my mind so last night when a friend and I were debating what to eat for dinner, I remembered this place and we checked it out. It was worth the visit and I will be going back when they prepare butter chicken on Fridays! The Meal Deal is a great value. For $30 you get 4 large containers of the special dishes prepared that day, naan and a dessert. They also sell pakoras, samosas and delicious house made chutneys (we had the tamarind one.). Everything was nicely seasoned, reheated well and there was enough for 2 people and lots of leftovers. The meals are packaged in clear plastic containers and kept in a self-service fridge or freezer for takeaway. It didn’t appear to have any eat in options. I had a chance to meet Sarge, one of the owners from England and I received the lowdown on his business (you can check out their website for more details.). The location is just off of Cadboro Bay Road and I think word of mouth is how most people find out about the place so I am so spreading the word! My friend has lived in a Victoria for 24 years, a true foodie and she had never heard about WPG but was happy with the new discovery. If you are looking for takeaway indian food one night, I recommend checking it out. It is a super cute corner store with lots of cool things and the Indian offering is truly delicious.

Mmm samosas. Found this place after a search for the best samosas in Victoria and soo happy I did. They are the best samosas I have ever had and I crave them all the time. Service is also always super friendly

Move over Vij!. Right here in our neighborhood is fabulous Indian food that is as good (or better!) than any I’ve ever had. Haven’t got a favorite yet – but the eggplant is delish.

Authentic Indian Food. Love, Love, Love WPG’s Indian food! Delicious and the flavors are spot on! Jas does a wonderful job with recreating authentic dishes right here in Oak Bay! My favorite, rice pudding! YUM!
