Very bad service. We tried the afternoon tea for two at the cafe inside Vandusen Gardens on January 25, 2015. The server did not provide us any utensils to eat the food—no spoon for the sugar, no forks or knives and no napkins. We tipped them by cash after the meal. Worst afternoon tea we ever had! Not to recommend to anyone.
Popped in to grab a pizza slice to go. while the pizza itself was okay, i was not at all impressed by the waiter (who just gave someone their change amoment before) taking it with his hand to put it in the bag for me. hygiene, anyone?
Rec for Afternoon Tea!. $35 for 2 is pretty filling stuff. although the atmosphere is a little more boisterous, the scenery is quite lovely.Great value, definitely recommend!
Who Knew!. Truffles has become my local.. and who would have thought that could be said for a cafe at a tourist destination. Truffles is located at the picturesque VanDusen Gardens, overlooking the lake and garden just inside the door. You can sit on the large patio and enjoy a break from the traffic.. without having to pay to get in! :)Great food, great coffee (supplied by JJ Bean) and friendly staff. Everything is well priced and always fresh. I stopped in one day to get a gift certificate to the gardens and decided to have some lunch. Happy I did as it’s now become a regular visit for both meetings and a relaxing bite.Who knew that there was a such great local option tucked away in this area. Keep it up Truffles, appreciate the good work and great view.
Fine , Friendly Service. Lovely artisan coffee, before a stroll through the botanical gardens. Chocolate scones were more like pastries, a little dry. Nice buttery croissants, chocolatey filled pain at chocolate. Morning tea was promising so we returned for lunch. Beef sandwich au jus was filing, israeli style cous cous salad was delicious but the portion was a little small. Prompt service, good food, reasonable price.
Great food at a fair price. We have visited Truffles Fine Foods on a number of occasions and have been impressed with the entire experience. The decor is very unique and welcoming. The food and service are beyond doubt equal to the best we have experienced. I would recommend trying the sandwich breads, take one home and enjoy within your family. The service was excellent the young lady who served us was very friendly and professional, a credit to the business. Truffles Fine Foods has a lot to offer being so centrally located off of Oak Street in the VanDusen Botanical Gardens. I have no problem recommending this place to family and friends, Aaliyah Walsh . Excellent Food!. Excellent food, service, juices. Exceptional place and people. Fantastic meal! It is a must. We had a lot of fun talking with the owner, even his staff. The sandwich creations is excellent, great portion. It is worth the money$!!!! We were eating inside, near the doorway and heard many people liking the atmosphere, very calm ambiance, they should open up more Truffles Fine Foods in metro Vancouver to expand the great experience and make it even more fantastic. Also a great place for business people to stop by and have a quick lunch. Great location for when we are working on the west side of town!
