14 years a regular patron. I love Indian food. I make a point of eating Indian cuisine almost weekly. While I have yet to sample everything off the menu, I can share my thoughts about a few dishes. First off, the flatbreads BOI make (parantha, naan, and roti) are excellent. For something special, try the stuffed parantha, but be warned, they are a meal unto them-self. I am very fond of BOI’s Dal Tarka. I have been to many Indian restaurants and BOI’s dal is my favourite. The butter chicken is a safe bet for kids and newbie’s to Indian cuisine. For the more adventuresome, the goat curry is quite nice. I usually order my curries very hot and I order Reata, a yogurt dish that is really excellent to have with any of the curries. The family are wonderful people and always offer good service. Enjoy.
Recommended. It’s so nice to find great food in small, conservative towns and Best of India certainly qualifies. We found our meals–Korma and Dahl– to be flavourful, fresh and bright tasting with just the right amount of heat. And although there’s plenty of sophistication in the flavour and spice profiles of the food there’s a distinct and pleasurable rusticity to the meal. It really does feel like this is the food that this charming family sits down to eat at the end of the day. We did find our starter, the paneer pakora, a little bland and uninteresting but it certainly didn’t spoil an otherwise fine meal. The portion size was large and the pricing in line with the area. As another reviewer notes, the dining area is a little cool in terms of ambiance though it is bright and clean. Friendly service and kind owners rounds out a very good experience that I can easily recommend.
Awesome. My favorite indian food, no contest. If i am in the Oliver area i try to eat here or bring some home. I haven’t had one bad meal or item. Its all good. The pakora and sauce is a must on the side of any meal. I am no indian food expert by any means but my tastebuds sure do like it. The staff are very kind as well.
