We ordered takeout for lunch. We tried the spicy lovers combo and the caterpillar roll. Their sushi is pretty solid. I think the spicy tuna was the spiciest, then the salmon and then chopped scallop. I really liked their chopped scallop. It tasted fresh and the pieces of scallop were nice and plump. The caterpillar roll had plenty of avocado on top. However, I don’t think it is worth $11. It tastes good, but it is basically a normal chopped scallop roll with some avocado on top and some tobiko. I would go back here though to have their normal chopped scallop and to try some more basics rolls.
While visiting the Okanagan, we decided that we wanted to have Sushi. Stopped by this little spot and was simply blown away by the quality. Service was friendly. They appeared to be understaffed, but the food was worth the wait! In fact, the food was so good that I can’t actually think of any sushi places in this price range in the Greater Vancouver area that can even compare! We had multiple rolls recommended by the waitress, the Awesome and the M&M roll were to die for! The Awesome roll with the fried shredded yam was very unique, something that I have never tried before. For selfish reasons, I told the Waitress that they should move to Surrey. Since moving here from Vancouver, I have not found one Sushi place that even comes close in quality. I would love to have Sushi this good in my backyard.
Very poor customer service. Go in to place a takeout order at 8pm and refused service when they close at 9pm because ‘they are too busy’ who refuses customers service with an hour until close? *btw there were tables open which if I were capable of staying would have sat down to be served, would they have told me I couldn’t sit down too? They’ve definitely lost me as a customer!
Nothing worse than driving all the way to the restaurant to find the closing time has changed from 9:30 to 9:00. But when I walk in at 8:48 on a Saturday night and refused service? Wtf! I was really looking forward to some sashimi before heading back to the lower mainland the next morning.
Some of the best sushi I have ever had. The food is fresh and top quality. The service is good but can get slow once they are busy as there is only one server. Highly recommend it – favourite restaurant in Penticton.
Exceptionally friendly staff who remember their regular customers. Menu has an interesting mix of sushi choices. Bipimbap is by far the best in town! Highly recommended 🙂
UP – Location worked out for me (close to the event center). Staff was friendly. Prices are decent too.DOWN – Poor rice quality. Staff smokes outside the front door.OUT – Only been here once so I can’t say if the rice is always bad, but mine turned out very super sticky. It was fine at first, because I was hungry, but as I went through my rolls everything was just mush.
