Not sure what its like. Booked an anniversary dinner over a week in advance, showed up with the entire family at 6:30 and they had no idea we were coming. The hostess even had a gall to make it my fault by asking if I knew the name of the girl I made the reservation with. For some reason this is a valid question? Like I write down the names of every clam I talk to on the phone. I wonder if I did know the name suddenly a table would appear out of the floor?? Anyways, lived here for years and I had never tried La Casa Ouzeria and I never will. Thanks to Theos restaurant three blocks down who accommodated us their staff enjoyed a $92 tip. Guess whos getting our future business?
After 4 hours drive up and checked in at the hotel, time for some dinner. Looked up something around and found this place, even without reservation on a Friday night they quickly had us seated to a great meal. We ordered roast lamb dinner, chicken souvlaki, garlic prawn dinner, and moussaka. Nice welcome feeling inside the restaurant, great food. Definitely need to come back.
Amazing place guys, we made reservations for Friday night 8:15 got right in. Everything came fast and delicious. Drinks, apps (feta&olives), main course’s and we even had desert. Everything tasted so good. Amazing fast service and our waitress was a blonde hottie 😉
Great food and atmosphere. We eat here regularly. You instantly get the feeling, its a well rounded, established, family run restaurant.Beautiful location for, a romantic dinner for two, dinner with business clients, friends and/or family Service is always excellent, Staff are always welcoming and friendly, fantastic food, great selection on the menu, the food portions are also quite sizeable, I have yet to have room left for desert. We have never had a bad experience here! A must try for those who haven’t yet!
I’ve been coming to La Casa Ouzeria for many many years and at one time it was my favorite location in Penticton. However in the past two years I’ve had three mediocre meals and possible my last During our last visit my gal has some sort of mushy cod cooked in an oil that had some funky aftertaste. One bite was enough for me! She requested a side I garlic butter and saw presented with plane margarine and a dash if garlic powder. Seriously. My meal was the La Casa Special. One that I’ve had at least ten times over the years. The chicken breast was so skimpy the it looked like Swiss cheese (full of holes). A half rack of ribs is not four bones. Place you hand out and look at four fingers and that what you can expect. The small round plate was garnished with some pasta to round out the $24 dish. At one time it was a challenge for to finish the works. This time I was disappointed with the smaller plate, see through chicken and skimpy 1/4 rack of ribs. Pasta was great but about half the portion they once gave. Bummed out to have lost another good local location.
Great family run restaurant. Husband and I always stop by on our visits to Penticton. Great family run place with good food and excellent service. Reasonable prices and good selection on menu. Thank you Minas and rest of Portalaki family for another great dinner!
Where do I start?!? I’m so…. Where do I start?!? I’m so glad I picked this restaurant. I have been to many Greek & Italian places, I must say this is prob one of the best ones I have been to. They bring you bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar which is absolutely delicious! We ordered the feta and Kalamata olives appy. Which was pretty much a Greek salad without the lettuce, but was still very tasty. My Boyfriend ordered the lamb souvlaki which he loved. The lamb was cooked perfectly and was very tender as were the veggies that came with it. They were fresh and cooked just right. The flavours were also amazing. I ordered the veggie delight. Everything was so fresh and tasty once again. The phyllo pastry was perfectly cooked. The filling was absolutely delightful. Everything about our meal was perfect! The only complaint I have is that the feta was not as strong as we like it. But other then that everything was amazing! We even had my 19 month old with us and they were totally accommodating. Anytime I have gone to a classy restaurant in Calgary with my son they don’t make you feel as welcome as la casa ouzeria does. Will definitely come back here.
