Coffee on a Saturday. I just had to write in to let you know how nice of a visit I had in your little cafe one Saturday not long ago… Although coffee was all that I had ordered, it was great. Served by a beautiful young blond girl behind the counter who was very sweet and welcoming. She allowed me to sit and read a book for an extended amount of time without even a hint of a problem, even offering to bring me a water at one point… I will be back to taste your food when I am in Penticton again!
Delicious & great service. I came here for the first time, and ordered lunch to go. I had the roasted red pepper tomato soup, and Le Jardin sandwich. The food was incredibly, surprisingly delicious, as I am a very picky eater. The service was great; very friendly and welcoming guys. I will recommend this to all my friends, and I will be back.
Saint Germain and it’s chef and owner, are very special. Go and bask in the warmth of his lovingly prepared food and environment.
Simply Great.. We chose to have lunch at Saint Germain around noon on a sunny monday. The inviting little cafe has three outside tables downtown on the sidewalk of Penticton’s Main st. and a nice array of inside seating and art. Right away the service was fantastic, we ordered what was on special for lunch, a Bowl of beef borscht to share and a smoked sockeye baguette each. We also had some coffee (medium roast). The coffee surprisingly was some of the best we have had in the Okanagan, apparently roasted in Vernon. The baguette’s simplicity and elegance of flavour was studied, a thin layer of cream cheese on both sides, layer of leaf lettuce, thin cucumber slices, slices of the smoked sockeye with a garnish of dill and lemon, as well as some pickled carrots, garlic and pickles on the side. The baguette was whole grain, dense and delicious bringing the whole sandwich together. Then the borscht came, a healthy portion of typical beet, carrot, onion and spices mixture, along with some tasty beef cubes, and lightly toasted baguette slices and sour cream on the side, it tasted sultry and wholesome. The total cost for two of us came to $25.00. We spent this whole meal smiling between each delicious element, and having some short but sweet discourse with the staff, in short, this place is simply great.
Best coffee I’ve ever tasted. And I have good taste in coffee! Excellent service, very clean and sunny and modern space. Love this place.
Pleasantly surprised, very good baguette sandwich (fromage), 3 kinds of cheese which included my fave, Brie. The carrot soup was to die for even considering i am not big on carrots! This cafe is definitely on my list as a regular for lunch.
Delicious fresh food. Parisien style baguette sandwiches, fresh made chausson aux pommes and organic coffee’s; what could be better? You can enjoy it all in the gallery or sit outside and enjoy the sunny sidewalk cafe.
