This restaurant is fine dining at reasonable prices. Last time we had the pan-fried calamari with yogurt dill sauce, and our entrees included hand-made ravioli in the most intensely flavoured tomato sauce I’ve ever had, pork shank that fell off the bone, and crispy chicken and risotto. All three were fantastic. Wines are reasonably priced and the service is excellent. We also tried three desserts including an inspired chocolate trifle dish with fresh berries which is phenomenal. The atmosphere is laid back, classyand private. Worth the trip!
Really great food. Very expensive though! I would only come here maybe once a year on a special occasion because of how expensive it is. The portion wasn’t that big either, a little disappointing there. All in all though I would go back again.
If you live in the nabourhood it’s a nice stop, but don’t go out of your way to visit. My GF and I went here while house sitting in Maple Ridge. We were recommended this place from a friend, but truthfully we were a bit disappointed with the service (maybe because we looked young and not dressed up).The food was a bit bland and over priced when compared to similar restaurants in the Metro Vancouver area, especially when you’re paying +$20 per entre. It’s a good place for the area, and it’s great to see some finer dining in Ridge Meadows. There is lots of potential here, but needs a lot of work.
Second visit – and excellent as per usual!. Excellent GENUINE service – not the fake fawning over you, that you get from the Keg or Cactus Club, here the servers remember you and leave you to have a great meal with friends or family. You certainly wont see them doing the SUPER cheesy server routine of sitting down at your table and chatting with you…. Food is excellent. Chef’s special twice and WOW -fresh quality local food at a very fair price. Deserts are great too. We shared one as the mains were so filling. This is one of the few restaurants that I am happy to tip 15% or 20% as they earn it, with fantastic service and excellent food. My wife and I can’t wait to go back! Also – the Oyster Bay Pinot Grigio (from NZ) – IS AMAZING.
Disappointed!!! :(. The service was terrible, the menu was limited and the prices for the portion sizes was ridiculous, $33 for steak and fries? Really? And who makes their customers pay for bread? A little basket of bread was $5? We were told we HAD to make a reservation and the restaurant was mostly empty the whole time. The seat that I sat in the booth was broken and the person behind me kept bumping it like when you sit behind a kid in the movie theatre. Why not fix your booth so it’s not so loose and rickety? Come on. I wasn’t sure about a wine so they graciously gave me a sample which I appreciated but when I said I loved it, she never brought me a glass. Ever.I drank a sip of wine my whole dinner!! The food is delicious (ridiculously small portions tho) but you just can’t enjoy when you are paying so much and the service is so poor. I do not recommend this place. Go eat at a high end restaurant in Vancouver and get better service, bigger portions and maybe even complimentary bread for the same price. The servers will ignore you which is too bad when the kitchen is putting out such quality food. Gordon Ramsey would be displeased.
Over priced, underwhelmed. Called to make a reservation on a Friday at 6 for 7pm. Was told 715. Showed up at 7, numerous empty tables. Okay. Matre d had vlue tooth ear piece on…. That always annoys me. The menu was certainly not what I had seen on line. Mains run from cheapest at $19 for small amount of ravioli to $32 for a steak. Sorry… In my mind those are big city prices for the quality of food we received. Another big beef… No pun attended….. Was $5 for bread. Really? A $25 main and $9 wines and you can’t put out some bread? Dishes were very small, and not filling. Dining at la regalade in west vancouver for example, you will see similar prices, but the portions are larger and superior in complexity of flavor.Similar recommendation for the lamplighter in fort Langley…. Be romantic… Take the scenic drive, an give this place a pass…. It is trying to be something it is not.
Great place in the ‘burbs. We need more!. Great food, relaxed atomsphere. If it’s a busy night, order another glass of wine and relax.
