One of my favourite breweries in Vancouver. There beers are delicious and often quite creative. Tried the Apricot Saison and the Pineapple IPA this trip. Can never go wrong with the Play Dead though.
Yellow Dog Brewing Co is a craft brewery located in Port Moody. This family-run brewery focuses on producing high quality locally crafted beer for everyone to enjoy. On a nice sunny day, youll see a lot of people handing out here with friends and even the whole family. You saw a lot of dogs and kids running around, which is great for parents that need a little break to enjoy a brew, but still have their kids at an arms length. Of course the kids can enjoy some root beer. I came here with a few foodie friends to see and taste all the cool breweries in this area.The beer flights are a good option if you want to try a variety of beers by having a little taste of each.All of them were really good and not too hoppy. Of all of them, my favourite was the Take a Walk Wit which has a light and citrus finish. Definitely great for a hot summers day. foodology.ca
Yellow Dog crafts and serves excellent beer but their customer service is less than friendly. One of the guys behind the bar in particular is very short with the people who are lined up to buy their beer. The thing is, their beer is excellent. Right now they have an apricot beer that is extraordinary. It is a very refreshing beer, especially on a hot summer-like day. During the winter I was buying and drinking their smoked Porter beer. Once again, an excellent beer. It will be interesting to see what the folks at Yellow Dog Brewery do in the coming months as they have applied for a lounge license meaning they will be able to serve food and beer for longer hours. Bottomline, I will return to Yellow Dog for their excellent beer (earning them a 4.5) in spite of their less than welcoming approach to customer service (earning them a 2.0). Total weighted score of 4.0 simply because their beer is still worth the grumpy face the server makes.
