Chill place. As a UBC student my friends and I are always looking for a chill place to split a few pitchers and get some good pub food that isn't cost…

It’s a pub. I like this place, pub style, live music is great and if you go on an Irish jam night it can be a really fun time. I do wish the food was better but at least if you order a PINT they give you a PINT! same menu with FRESH food would improve everything, but might make it busier, nothing is perfect…HAHA.
Never going back, terrible service to UBC students. Our table of 9 people ordered several drinks (around 100 dollars worth) and a plate of nachos on friday night, and they advertise $9.99 nachos every friday, which is what we thought we ordered. They brought us the standard nachos, which are $13.99, without asking which ones we specifically wanted. So I asked the manager/owner about the misunderstanding, he said it was OUR fault, we must pay the 4 dollars extra despite our other purchases. So we paid our bill in full and are never going back. The manager treated us with such DISRESPECT over an honest mistake of about 4 dollars difference. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
A Home Away Home. Dentry’s Irish Grill is a welcome escape from the pressures of university life. Reasonable beer, delicious food and friendly staff I highly recommend UBC students and anyone in the area to visit Dentry’s Irish Grill. Dentry’s Lager is delicious and affordable. Every Wednesday wings are on 36cent special! Can’t get a cheaper meal in the city! Myself and my group of friends have made visiting Dentry’s our Wednesday night tradition! If you’re looking for a friendly environment with familiar faces visit Dentry’s!!!!1
Nothing Special. What’s so Irish about it?A live duo band that sings Irish Folk Songs? They serve Guinness? That’s it. I hardly call that an Irish Grill. I tried the burger here and it was definitely forgettable. I’m not sure if it was their intention, but to char the burger, yet still have a hint of pink in the middle. The heck? Next – whole wheat bun? Seriously? If I wanted Whole Wheat Garbage, I would have asked for it. It could have been toasted too, that would have helped reduced the staleness.Fries? They look like Costco Fries to me. For 12 bucks, I’ll stick to Red Robins for a better put burger. The wing’s didn’t look all that great too. If you are going to have all Drums, then call it Drummette special, not wing’s special. Being a bit nit picky here, but some people don’t like Drumsticks, right?Overall, It’s not the worst place I’ve been to, but definitely not a repeat.
Location, location, location. My friend lives a block or two away from Dentry’s and that’s the reason we initially went there. our few visits have been pleasant and the Guinness on tap is pretty smooth. i haven’t dove into the menu too much but the nachos were regular pub grub. not the most hopping place but satisfactory:)
It’s a hangout. My colleagues and I are regulars here (you can see one of our jackets hanging on the wall!). We always find great, friendly service. The food’s never been anything special, nor have the drink prices (though they are for Point Grey). The $12 Friday steak dinner special is, however pretty much the best deal in the city.
