We came here for brunch for the first time, on Canada day, and had a great experience.Positives: The decor was so cosy and mellow! (The staff said they renovated recently in December) Every detail, from the light fixtures to the choice in ceramic plates, it was very earthy and we really enjoyed it! (See photos) it felt like a proper restaurant that cared about the clients experience (details like cloth napkins, good communication between the server and us, 3-4 staff saying thanks as you walked out of the restaurant). Menu wasn’t overwhelming, good choices. We both went with the crab cake Benedict (see photo), poached eggs to perfection. Generous portions!Negatives: the only reason we didn’t give it a higher rating was that the food wasn’t anything exceptional. The hash browns were good (cooked perfectly and had real parmesan shavings too), but lacked seasoning. The quality of the food was good but the crab cakes themselves weren’t that exciting and the hollandaise sauce was off (although it could’ve been a different take on it, we weren’t sure). The atmosphere and service is what makes me want to come back and try something else!
Ambience: pleasantFood : The vegetable pakoras were served with tamarind chutney and mint chutney. Daal makhani was served with naan (bread) and jeera (cumin) rice. The food was really good !Price: Slightly on higher side but portion size is good !*Must try place for Indian food
Attended the NEW and improved Enigma on December 22, for the soft opening. Officially re opens December 23. THIS is the place to dine at if you are in Point Grey or near 10th Avenue West. The food is dramatically improved, the staff are courteous, energetic, and enthusiastic. They will treat you like royalty, and you will dine on excellent food with a variety of choice from Indian to Western. Huge portions if you are a salad lover. You won’t be disappointed. Kudos to the owner for the courage to make the change and unload the bad apples from her cart!
