As much as I love this place, was extremely disappointed at their unwillingness to accomodate on their no-show fee. It’s $30/person, and they do not give reminder phone calls as most places in Vancouver do. They also gave the table away in half hour, which means they did not actually lose revenue that night, but they claim that is why they cannot transfer this charge to a future booking, which I was fully ready to do. I did not ask for a refund, but simply a transfer of this minimum charge towards the next booking.Having said that, their food is fabulous and I love their parmesan souffle.

Pleasant dinner date with dad. Very nice waiter who explained the Italian menu to us patiently. We ended ordering an antipasto, a first course, two second courses and a dessert. Nice leisurely evening.

It’s clearly one of the most expensive restaurants in Vancouver. It’s small, not fancy, but it’s expensive. The food was really delicate but I’m not so sure if it worth the price. The waitress couldn’t understand my question about the price and gave us the wrong message that the set menu is 60 dollars in total not per person. In fact it’s 60 per person. I don’t recommend this place if you are looking for good value. but if you are looking for a special, delicate, unique and authentic meal you could check it out and see if you like it. i give it 4/5 for the food not the value.

This is definitely a must try at least once in your lifetime if you live in Greater Vancouver. My favourites were the antipasti platter, cheese souffle and the best caprese salad EVER. I found the portions more than adequate, after the first few courses (out of seven) I had to eat very carefully to get to even try everything that came next. Imagine how mortified I was to find that the second last course was steak- I barely had any space left!! Lastly, the service was a little brisk, so overall I still prefer Cioppinno’s for Italian in Vancouver, but only by a small margin!

I used to live in the neighborhood but never tried this restaurant. Went for the first time with a couple of good friends and I have to say it’s a great restaurant. Fantastic food, great service.Had a great antipasti board and a great pasta dish. Looking forward to going back and trying out the rest of the menu. Great place to take a date by the way. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Had dinner here yesterday with wife and friends. We were a party of 6. from parties of 6 and up you are treated to the A la Famigla impromptu menu All in all very good meal. We had the $60pp course.I think it was 2 Antipastis, 3 Primi, 1 Secondi, and 1 Dolce of the 7 course meal served family style.Service was good but we were all busy taking pictures so we missed a bunch of the explanations of the dishes by the servers. Dishes came a little slow across the seven courses.1st course was an antipasti platter consisting of anchovy wrapped olives, pickled vegetables, 4 different meats prepared different ways, and fried zucchini flower with sides of bread. The meats were fragrant, though I’m not sure if it was from the olive oil used with the bread. 1 was an aged 8 month meat. My favorite was the fried zucchini flower and the shoulder meat of.. not sure what it is I ate. 5/52nd course was a parmigianno souffle paired with some cucumbers not sure how it was prepared, but with some sort of oil, not heavy, and flavorful – 5/53rd course was scallops and pork belly on top of a bed of vegetables and couscous or lentils not sure, the garnishes were a bit on the sour side to cut the richness of the fat from the pan seared porkbelly when eaten together. Well thought out and executed, I think the scallops were cooked perfectly though personally I prefer my scallops slightly more cooked, scallops were seasoned well. 4.5/54th course was the pasta, something stuffed with a mix of veal and lamb meat? not sure what was the sauce either. textures were good, pasta was fresh pasta, taste was a little one dimensional, not enough going on. Not sure if this is supposed to be this way in the course of a 7 course meal but as the dishes were a little slow to come out, if it was done intentionally to connect the previous course and the next course the time lag kinda ruins it 3.5/55th course was a tagliatelle sausage ragu? also fresh pasta, pasta cooked very well just like the last course but quite similar in taste, also one dimensional and the sausage didn’t feel like it added anything to the dish. I’m not sure where the courses are leading to here. I actually prefer this style of preparation at Ayden’s in Saskatoon more. more fitting to my tastes. 3/56th course was a steak florentine (1kg tbone) with a side of some salad dressed in balsamic vinegar with pine nuts. The meats were cooked very well, we didn’t put in what we wanted our meat cooked to as it’s family style, very juicy and tender, seasoned very well and in the right amount unlike the stuff at the Keg, but not overpowering seasoning like in outback, though overpowering seasoning is better than the next to no seasoning at the keg. The salad was dressed well and very appetizing. 5/57th course was some type of honey cake with cherries prepared in some sort of alcohol, not very strong but gives it a very interesting taste and adds onto the basic honey cake taste. Honey cake was very tender and moist, taste was good, the cherries add to the taste, cake by itself was lacking but probably meant to be eaten with the sharp tasting cherry and custards. I ate the custard? seperately. The custard had a berry compote topping that tasted very tangy, with the custard the taste was splendid. 4.5/5Highly recommend this Italian restaurant, much better than the other Italian restaurants I have been to in Vancouver
