OK for a Greek snack. I prefer Parthenon across the street when I’m shopping for Greek specialty items, although Minerva’s is well-stocked with all sorts of interesting foods too. And I’m a bit cheesed off (pun intended) because one time I bought what was advertised as Parmesan and it grated up/tasted like Romano. (Real Parmesan should be granular, and this was powdery/less salty, like Romano.) Just goes to show that I shoulda stuck to Italian joints on Commercial for my Parmesan.Whingeing aside, I was pleasantly surprised when I stopped for a snack there and had a decent cheese pie (not quite a tirakopita, because it was spinach inside with bits of bland feta.) I had had their straight spanakopita once before and was unimpressed. Maybe this one came across as better because I was hungry. What was even better was their sweet boureka — the phyllo was not soggy or stale, and the custard filling inside was tasty.I rate this as an OK place for a cheap nosh, especially if you eat it on their narrow courtyard out front and watch the passing parade of people along West Broadway.
