I’m a complete chocoholic and have been longing to try their chocolate oblivion cake ever since hearing about it on Yelp. Unfortunately, they weren’t offering any sliced versions of the cake when I dropped by today, so I got their chocolate oblivion shot instead. Since it was quite small in size, I decided to get a slice of their sour cream coffee cake and a cheese croissant as well.Cheese croissant: 4/5; The croissant was pale and didn’t look too appealing, but surprisingly turned out to be quite flaky and tasty. It was very small however (about 1/2 the size of croissants from most bakeries) and not very filling.Chocolate oblivion shot: 4.5/5; I’ve been really looking forward to this, and fortunately, I was not disappointed. The toffee mousse and chocolate ganache had a perfect level of sweetness, while the chocolate cake was moist and delicious. Since I’m not a big fan of mousse-type desserts in general (I like having texture), I think that I’d probably would have preferred the sliced cake version more. Nevertheless, it was still very enjoyable, and I enjoyed every bite.Sour cream coffee cake: 3/5; This wasn’t really what I expected from a coffee cake: it was more like a bar with a layer of crunchy nut filling at the bottom and a layer of crumbly cake on top. While I didn’t mind the texture, I did find the cake to be quite bland. Furthermore, it was a bit heavy on the cinnamon.Overall, I thought that the food was good for the most part, and although the portions are small, the prices are still reasonable. Unfortunately, they didn’t have much of a selection (as I’ve mentioned earlier, they didn’t have the sliced version of the chocolate cake on the day that I went), and quite a few of their items appear to be already sold out at ~12:30pm. Furthermore, the service was a bit dodgy. The staff that I encountered, while reasonably polite, was a little slow and awkward. I don’t think I’ll be returning again…except maybe if they have their sliced version of the chocolate oblivion cake.

Always great food matched with great service. The decadent desserts and wholesome foods give me reasons to come back. Huge selection of desserts, breakfast pastries, bread, soup, and sandwhiches.

One of the best artisan bakeries in town… The soups and sandwiches are to die for. A wide variety of tasty artisan breads, always fresh. The desserts and pastries are amazing, especially the chocolate mousse cake they are making, is divine. The cookies are great, too, except for the gluten-free cookie. It’s ok, but I find it a little bit dry for my taste. They also have caneles every once in a while, and they are very delicious, lots of flavour. Very nice and helpful staff and cozy ambiance.
