If i had to compile a list of countries that intrigue me most, North Korea would be on top. Not because of the brilliant twitter handle @DPRK_News ( spoiler alert : Its a satirical account ), and certainly not because of Kim Jung-Uns hairdo, but because of the mystique the country carries across the globe. My Pakistani origins might make getting a visa to North Korea easy too. Youll need to use our trusted friend google to understand the reasons behind that.Coming back to food, im not someone who likes experimenting. There are certain cuisines that i love, and i stick to them for the most part. Recently curiosity got the better of my wife and i and we decided to take the plunge.North or South. Communism or Capitalism. Democracy or not. Elaborate military parades or electronic gadgets.Korean Food it was.Just so you know, North and South Korea do have different cuisines. The place we visited was probably South Korean, but thats just a guess. Its got a cool vibe to it. We went there for lunch on a Sunday and it wasnt that busy. The aesthetics are pretty basic – nothing too glitzy but neat and clean otherwise.Following some recommendations from the super nice server, we ordered the Sundubu ( Tofu Stew ) and the Chicken Mayo Rice Bowl. The Sundubu was really nice. The way they serve it only makes it better – they place a mini stove on your table so your meal stays warm as you serve it. Just the right amount of sting and sweet. Be warned though, it is massive – probably fit for 2 or 3 people. The Chicken Mayo Rice Bowl wasnt bad, but it was heavier than I expected. Not dry, slightly salty and aided by eggs. Im sure it would have tasted better had i gone there on an empty stomach.Overall verdict?Nice little place. I wont mind revisiting, but it wont be number one on my list.Ambiance : 8/10. Sweet and simple.Service : 8/10.Friendly staff. Helped out with the selection too.Food Quality : 7/10. Worth a try if you want to change things around.

This new Korean restaurant introduced me to a new world of Korean cuisine. I tried every veggie/egg dish on the menu and each one had a different flavour profile. As they say, mukja LETS EAT!!
